Third POV
Percy and Joyce drove for about an hour. Percy was so sleepy his eyelids were constantly fluttering and his head kept bobbing. He'd even hit his head on the window occasionally. Joyce would laugh at him making the boy pout childishly although this only made her laugh harder. When the two made it home they went into the house with Joyce supporting Percy's weight. Unfortunately David was sitting at the table drinking a beer. Unfortunately David's mind doesn't work like others so when he saw Joyce practically dragging Percy in he instantly assumed the worse.
"Joyce? Is that boy drunk?!" He yelled. This instantly set Percy off for two reasons. One, Percy doesn't drink. Ever. Two, never yell at anyone Percy cares about. "Hold on captain fucktard. Number one, I don't drink. Ever. I've sworn to never in my life drink any type of alcohol in my life and I plan on keeping that promise. Two, don't yell at Joyce, because you don't like something about me. If you have a problem with me take it out with me. Now the reason Joyce was holding me is because I traveled three days and eight hours with barely any sleep so I'm tired. With that said I'm going to sleep." Percy didn't give the man time to respond and stomped up the stairs to Chloe's room. Joyce looked at Percy's retreating figure and said only one thing.
"Language!" Percy of course responded with. "English!"
TimeSkip to the morning
"Hey mom. How's it cooking." Chloe Price said coming into the house with another girl following behind her. Chloe is a tall girl with white, pasty skin, strawberry blonde hair, with blue eyes. She wears a black leather jacket, a white T-shirt with faded blue jeans and black and white vans. The girl behind her was none other than Rachel Amber. She had long, light brown hair, fair skin and hazel eyes. She's wearing a red and black plaid shirt over a blank tank top, blue jeans and brown boots.
"Hey Chloe, hello Rachel." Joyce said. "Mrs. Price, Mr. Madsen." Rachel greeted. David just grunted in annoyance. "What's wrong with you, you seem....angrier." Chloe asked. David looked up from the paper and glared at Chloe before looking back at his newspaper. "You saw that right? I tried and he glared. Please tell me you saw that." Chloe desperately begged her mother. "I saw it Chloe and I'm proud of you. He's just angry that we have a guest. Though I've told him multiple times that you'd be taking them to a hotel today." Joyce said.
"What! why me?! Why can't you do it?" Joyce smiled. "Two reasons. One, I have to be at the diner early. Two, you'll like who it is. Just trust me." Chloe raised an eyebrow. "Just listen to her. It can't be that bad." Rachel said. Chloe scoffed. The sound of a room door opening could be heard from upstairs then someone walking. They seemed to have walked into the bathroom, because another door closed and soon after the shower cut on. Chloe was staring up at the ceiling with a pensive look. "Were-were they in my room?!" Chloe exclaimed. Joyce only chuckled. Soon the sound of someone coming down the stairs could be heard and when Chloe saw who it was she nearly chocked on her own spit she gasped so hard.
Sea green eyes with a mirthful glint, black hair that seemed to not want to go in any certain direction, perfectly tanned skin and a lopsided smile that would put any adult in edge it had so much mischief in it. His overall aura put Chloe and Rachel to shame when it came to auras that screamed 'I'm up to no good, but you can't stop me!'. Rachel herself was staring at the boy in awe, confusion and admiration. She looked over to Chloe and saw her face was pale and her eyes wide, but in this wide eyes there was confusion, shock, fear(?), happiness and excitement.
"Chloe. Long time no see." She didn't even say anything. All she did was rush over and wrap the shorter person in a tight hug. He gasped, but smiled and chuckled. "I missed you too." He said hugging her back. Percy suddenly felt something wet on his shoulder. "I'm sorry. Is the great, all powerful booty stealing pirate Chloe Price crying?!" He asked mockingly. Chloe pulled back and punched him in the shoulder making both of them wince. "Geez, have you been working out?" Percy just shrugged. "Guess you were right mom. I love this guest." Chloe said happily with a genuine smile on her face.
"Ahem." Rachel cleared her throat making the two other teens look at her. "I'm Rachel Amber, Chloe's best friend." She introduced herself. Percy tilted his head to the side. "Odd, never heard of you. Holding out on me Chloe?" Percy asked sticking out his hand. "Percy Jackson. Also Chloe's best friend." He said. She shook his hand with a lifted eyebrow. "For how long? She's obviously known you for a while." Percy thought about it. "When we met I was six and she was nine so a good few years." He shrugged. Rachel's eyes widened. "Wow, I thought she'd talk about you more." She said in surprise. "I do. I just don't say his name. You know the 'god of pranks' I always talk about? That's him." Chloe said.
"Oh that's you?! You're a literal god in her eyes." Percy chuckled nervously. "Thanks, but don't think you'll get away. Rachel, how long have you been Chloe's friend?" Percy asked. "About three years." He nodded. "Three years. Three years and I've never heard of her? What's that about Chloe? That's not even the only thing I'm gonna get in you about, but we can get to that later." Chloe's scared expression came back. "Shit." She said. "Watch your mouth." David grumbled. "Oh come on it's a word. Get over it Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me and all that." Chloe said scoffing at the end.
"It's disrespectful!" He screamed. "David..." Joyce started, but he cut of her off. "No Joyce. I'm growing tired of her disrespect!" He said. Percy was holding himself back from stepping in. He wanted to see how far this would go. "Would you chill out! It's just a word. There's nothing bad about it. You're just blowing this out of proportion." Chloe said. "You need to learn respect." He said. "Respect is earned not given or learned." Chloe shot back. David stepped forward, Chloe shuffled back then.....
