Lucy sat in her hospital bed as she crossed her arms. Stiles frowned at Melissa. "I'm completely fine."
Melissa shook her head. "Uh-uh-uh. You completely and totally have a concussion, Stiles. Lie back down. You too, Lu. The doctor said you're not leaving without a CT scan. Lu, I'm making you get one as well. I don't care if shadows heal you."
"Minor injuries," Lucy said. "And there's no needles, right?"
Melissa smiled at her. "No, there's no needles."
Stiles frowned at Melissa. "We still haven't paid for the last one."
"Oh, no, no, no. Meredith is at the station. Your dad said it could take some time, but he will get her to talk. Even if I let either of you go, what would you do?"
Stiles let out a sigh. "Okay, fine." He sat back on the bed. "Can you do me one little favor?"
Melissa smiled. "Anything."
"Can you get me a tape player?"
"Like cassettes?"
He nodded. "Yes. Tapes."
"Yeah, I'll see what I can do."
"Okay, tapes though, please."
"Cassettes," Melissa corrected as she left the room.
Lucy made her way to the bathroom while holding her head. It hurt more than it should've. She pulled her hand back to see blood. "Schist."
"What is it?" Stiles called, making his way over to her.
"When Brunski knocked me into the wall, I hit my head. Started bleeding."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, but I think Melissa will want to know. Or, actually, you know what, turn off the light."
"You're gonna use the shadows, aren't you. Is it minor?"
"Pretty sure, yeah."
Lucy focused on using the shadows to heal her head and smiled in satisfaction as she felt the cuts healing.
Since she still felt a little dizzy, she took some ambrosia.
They sat back down and as soon as Melissa came in, Stiles asked, "You find a tape player?"
She shook her head and glanced at Lucy. "Lu, did you heal yourself?"
Lucy nodded. "Yes. I didn't want a CT scan."
"Lu, you were injured. It'll tell us if there was brain damage."
"I was knocked into a wall. I'm fine. The shadows helped me."
She sighed. "Fine. God knows you're stubborn."
Lucy shot her a sweet smile. "So Nico tells me."
When they were released, Stiles and Lucy headed back to his house. While he sat at his desk, she sat on his bed and pulled her jacket around her. Stiles frowned. "Are you cold?"
"Hard to tell. I'm always cold."
Stiles took my hands, covering them, and played the tape. Almost instantly, Lorraine's voice sounded throughout the room. "Listen to me. Please listen. There's something I have to do, something I have to stop."
Brunski's voice said, "I have to take you back to Eichen, Lorraine."
Stiles turned up the volume as Lorraine answered, "No. No. I don't think you're gonna be taking me anywhere. I can hear the recorder in your pocket. It's on now, isn't it? You're making a tape. Just like you taped the others."
