When Brandon woke up, it twas as if he was hit by a bullet train, his entire body felt like it had cuts opening from the sheer potency of pain. He really pushed himself well past what should have been his maxed potential, it appears that his body has no limit as to what it can do, the anger releases the inhibitor, tying him to his humanity. When that link is removed from the equation, all hell breaks loose, no pun intended.
Brandon slowly getting up, adjusting to the pain as best he can, slowly makes his way to the bathroom. As he gets ready for his shower, he looks into the mirror...damn it at the number of scars on his body. The spiritual link between his body and soul was pushed way beyond its natural limits. Shortly after examining his wounds, he got into the shower. The hot water relaxed every aching muscle in his body. After he finished washing his hair, he got out, gotten his special set of clothes on, and then proceeded to the kitchen.
As soon as he made his way to the kitchen, Mom had started pestering him with the normal routine. He ignored it as usual, took his insulin, then began eating his cereal in the cup, per the routine. The ride was normal as well, mom rushing, kicking him out of the car, and peeled out out of the parking lot.
As he was walking to his classroom, he heard a slight pitter-patter of feet. When he turned around, there was Megan caught trying to sneak up on him.
"Man, I guess there really is a first for everything, I really didn't expect you to hear me!" Megan said shockingly.
"I guess you don't really remember what we've just went through do you? I have something to show you...now." Brandon grabbed her hand, and took her behind the cafeteria.
"What is it?" Megan asked, as she became slowly more worried by the second.
"These..." Brandon lifted up his shirt and revealed the numerous number of scars all over his body. Megan freaked out, having to cover her mouth otherwise everyone would hear her scream.
"Brandon, what is that from???" Megan's reaction was far worse than what was to be expected.
"I...don't remember, all I do remember was being in the spirit world and I went to your house then...I...blacked out..." Brandon's demeanor had changed abruptly. Going from a nostalgic mood to an incredibly intense depression.
Megan knew better than to retell what had occurred, but she did know that they being together would make everything better.
"Brandon, It was a bad night, for everyone, even Robbedobb. Let's just forget about it and continue our day at school, okay?" She gives Brandon that world class smile, and kisses him on the cheek. His face turns red and he smiles back then says:
"Abso-poso-lutely, can't wait for recess today!"
They hold hand in hand as they make their way into the classroom and take their respective seats, as the teacher starts the class.
As it came time for recess, all the children made their way towards the field. The usual running of laps and then playtime, Brandon and Megan made their way into the jungle gym. This was their personal play area, since most, if not all, were afraid of Brandon. The two had spent their time discussing what to do.
Paradise, as it seems, has been reached once more. Even though there is many trials and tribulations still to come, this is truly just the beginning of it all...
"Brandon...I...it was so scary, that night you were not yourself..."
Megan was upset, how could anyone blame her. What she witnessed was what no other human ever would. Strangely, she was not scared...only worried...about the boy.
Any other being would have gone insane, just from the sheer power the boy had demonstrated.
"Megan, it's okay though, everyone is alright now." Brandon smiled as he reassured her, thus calming her down.
"But...what if it happens again...what if next time, someone gets hurt, or dies? What if I lose you to your anger taking over you? I couldn't or even want to imagine that happening!" Her tears forming once more, beginning the free fall to the bottom of her chin.
"Hey, it'll be okay, no matter what, I will always be me. Just please, don't cry, and be strong. After all we are the Astral Children!"
They stayed inside the jungle gym, planning further for whatever or whomever may come their way. These kids...make me proud.
Soon after their plans were complete, the coach had blown his whistle, telling them to line up to return to class.
The day had soon flown by without a trace, as did their week. Preparation after preparation, they were getting ready for danger. They plan on not allowing the same fates to occur again. They are soon to find another adventure.
I just hope that they have prepared enough...
