Christmas time; the time of joy, cheer, as well as the time for love. This is the how it goes for pretty much everyone, children going to sleep waiting for Santa Claus, in anticipation for there to be Christmas gifts, stockings filled to the brim with candies, and other miscellaneous objects. The day was indeed Christmas Eve, whilst everyone was preparing for families to get together for dinner.

Brandon and Roger had planned to get together to go to their Mystical Playground to enjoy the playground at christmas time. Brandon's mother told him he could not go due to it being cold and almost Christmas Day. Roger's mother pretty much said the same. It was not going to happen, at least until...

*ring ring* The telephone rang.

"Hello?" Brandon's mother answered the phone.

"Hi, could I speak to Brandon please, it's Roger."

"Yeah, BRAANDON!!" His mother called for him.

"Yeah?" he answered.

"Roger, on the phone for you."

"Oh, okay" he answered the phone "Hello?"

"Hey man just seeing if you wanted to go to the playground...I'm going to sneak out I want to see it tonight considering its Christmas, you wanna come with me?"

"Um, yeah I will go, uhh, what time?" He asked with great trepidation.

"Now?" Roger stated

"Okay, sounds good I'll meet you there in about 5 mins." Brandon says quite excitedly.

Brandon hangs up the phone, and then gets ready to leave, mom stops him abruptly.

"Where do you think you are going?" She had said sternly.

"Roger had invited me over to his house, to go play games, I had gotten so excited I forgot to ask if it was okay, I'm sorry Momma. Would it be okay if I go?"

It was a good thing that he had thought quick too, if he hadn't he wouldn't have been able to go.

"Hmm, okay, well you had best be back in two hours. I don't wanna have to hunt you down, I'd be really mad if I do."

"Okay, Momma thank you, I LOVE YOU!" He had not been happier in his life.

As soon as he got his mother's approval, he got his backpack with snacks and his diet soda, and left to go to the Mystical Playground.

Running as if time was running out, Brandon rushed to the entrance of the playground.

He got to the entrance right before Roger did, Brandon must have ran so fast, a child's excitement is indeed a wonderful thing. He waited for a few minutes in the snow, but Roger had finally showed up. The two of them had such a big smile on their face, it was so nice for Brandon to have a friend like Roger, he was definitely the best friend he ever had.

"So, you ready?" Roger said, barely containing his childlike giggle.

"Yeah I can't wait anymore." Brandon had answered

"Then, the last one there is a rotten egg." having that said Roger ran so fast that Brandon could barely keep up with him.

After about five minutes of running, Brandon was practically down for the count.

"So, guess I'm a rotten egg, huh" Brandon had spoke pretty tiredly.

Roger had chuckled heavily, "No, I was just kidding, but-"

He had stopped talking, noticing the scenery. With all the snow on everything, with the blue light that were shining through the trees, it truly looked mystical. The boys' eyes had grown so big, they had never seen anything like that in their lives.

Then they ran to the swings and began having the time of the their lives. They swung so high to the point to where they could see the beautiful lights through the trees. The slide was much faster, so much more fun, with the snow lining it adding that extra bit of speed. Roger went first, slid down so fast, that he had made a face plant into the snow. Brandon giggled so hard, he wanted to go so bad. So he ran up and went belly down the slide and dived face first into the snow. The snow had made his face so cold, that he jumped up and started his relentless giggling, then continued on.

When it had finally gotten down to the last thirty minutes before Brandon had to leave to go home, he sat on the teeter totter, and pulled out the snack he had packed before he left. Sour cream and chives crackers, he loved those things so much, they were just simply delicious. After he went through his crackers and drank his Diet Pepsi. Roger and Brandon had started to walk back to their respectful houses.

As they walked through the forest tunnel, it was if they went from the majestic view to the extremely spooky night time scenery. It had turned very dark, very fast. The slight wind blowing throughout all the trees making that really creepy sound. The paranoia filled the air, you could cut these boys' fear with the dullest blade known to the earth. Every so often they swore they could hear footsteps....eventually they just stopped moving altogether.

"Do you hear that?" Roger said with such great trepidation.

"T-the f-f-footsteps?" Brandon responded, his speech impediment had returned with no restraint.

"Yeah, they stopped....ssh!" Roger whispered

"What is it?" Brandon said really quietly.

"I don't know I'm gonna check it out" Roger was being very curious.

Roger walked over to the tunnel wall, which wasn't really a wall, just what the kids had called it. It was really just trees and bushes. Roger was looking pretty deep into it. Then all of a sudden he had let out a yelp, jumping back and falling back on his butt.

Then a big figure had stepped out of the "wall" He was a giant in comparison to the boys. He was at least six feet tall. He was also very wide and muscular. It was if the guy was a juggernaut. The only thing the boys couldn't keep their eyes off of was the machete, which was dripping fresh blood. The man spoke in a very deep voice, neither one of the boys could see his face.

"Well, well. What brings you boys out here this late at night. Isn't it past your bedtime?" He asked menacingly

Roger went to say something but was frozen in fear of the man.

"Heh, boys, you better run. You two are technically witnesses, seeing my face and all. I do not need any more complications..." He spoke in a very serious tone.

Before they had the chance to even attempt to get away, the man held Roger up by his neck, he had started laughing...

"You seem like a good kid, it truly is a shame. Good luck in the afterlife, may god have mercy on me."

As soon as he said that, he took his machete to Roger and impaled him through his tiny stomach, making sure his innards dripped onto the ground. When he removed the blade, Roger's bowels were dangling from his stomach.

The man just kept laughing and laughing after making a joke, "so sticky, so sticky, it is sticking to my blade. haha" the laughter, oh god, the laughter, it just wouldn't stop. He turns to Brandon, smiles at him with the same malicious, sickening smile, that Brandon will never ever forget.

"Too bad for him, just wasn't quite quick enough. As for you boy...Prepare to meet the same fate." The man began laughing maniacally.

The man then moved towards Brandon, slowly, very slowly. It seemed as if time froze for Brandon. The man was in slow motion, but Brandon could just not find the ability to move. Fear and trauma, in any amount, can paralyze the greatest of men. So little Brandon was, in essence, immobile.

As this horrific moment slowly passed, everything for Brandon went black...

Now you know the most unfortunate, yet important event that this boy will go through in his life. This is one of the worst events to happen in this tome. Hopefully the rest will not be so horrifying to try to see through this boy's eyes. The amount of appreciation that you given reading it thus far, is innumerable. Now let us continue...
