The time when the beautiful sound of the school bell chiming into every child's ear, announcing the end of the week vacation beginning once more. Although it was not just any weekend, no no no no, it was young Brandon's favorite holiday. Halloween!
"Megan! Are you doing anything tomorrow?" Brandon exclaimed, bursting with excitement.
"Well, Dad is having a Halloween party with his friends, Mom is cooking for it. So I'm probably going to be there for Halloween." Megan didn't share Brandon's feeling of excitement.
"Hmm, why don't you do Halloween with my family then? Even though my mom is mom, it'll be more fun if you join along!" Brandon smiled, it was at this point, where he had reminded me of someone I knew in my past.
I wonder how he's doing?
When Brandon had gotten home, it was not much longer when the phone rang.
Brandon bolted to the phone. "Hello?"
"Hi, Brandon, guess what?" It was Megan after all.
"What is it? Is your Dad letting you come over?" Brandon's excitement knew no bounds.
"Actually, no..." Megan sounded really disappointed.
"Aw, why?"
"Haha I'm just kidding, he is going to bring me over at five o'clock." Megan laughed greatly at her prank.
"No way! That is awesome!" Brandon exclaimed.
"Yes way! Would it okay if I stay the weekend?"
"I'll ask mom real quick. HEY MOM IS IT OKAY IF MEGAN STAYS THE WEEKEND!"
Taking her time, his mother finally responds.
"Sure as long as she doesn't cause trouble!" Brandon knew her humor, Megan on the other hand did not.
"Did I cause trouble the last time?" Megan asked.
Brandon's quick thinking sparked an idea. "Yeah, she said that you were a bit demanding, it upset her a little bit..."
Megan was taken aback, "Really?"
"Noooooooo, haha, I'm just kidding. She is joking, she's like that. I'll see you at five?"
"That was a good one, guess I deserved that one, and yes, I will see you around five. See you later?"
"Yeah, I should be here." Brandon joked back.
As time passed with five o'clock drawing nearer by the minute. Brandon's anxiousness grows more and more as the minutes go by. When she finally had pulled up into the driveway, Brandon exploded with excitement.
He goes to open the door, and sees her and her father. She already has her costume on, it was not what he had expected. She was downright scary! Dressed as the bride of Dracula, her hair was black and white, covered in fake blood, and a white dress that was once beautiful. The dress looked as though it was ravaged by time, and the stains of a war covered it. Whomever did her costume did an amazing job with it.
"Megan!" Brandon exclaimed.
"Brandon!" Megan exclaimed back.
"Wow, you guys sure are excited." Megan's Dad inputted his bit.
"Yes Sir! We're like best friends, haha, why wouldn't we be?" Megan told her father.
"That is a very good point, okay Honey, you have fun. I'm leaving you in the capable hands of this young man." He said jokingly.
Of course not knowing of the child's destiny. I have this privilege, and I'll tell you, his destiny? Unlike most, no nearly every human. His destiny is not definite, though I know the numerous outcomes it possesses. Everything is all dependent on what occurs when his school life ends, and when his life begins.
The little ones go into the living room and set up their respective sleeping areas. Brandon having to get into his costume. He decided to dress up as this movie character by the name of Ghost Face. I personally thought it was silly. The moment when he decided to put his special clothing underneath, well let me just say, it was ingenious. That is how the little one is going to scare the others, and we three will be the only ones to know about it.
Six O'clock drew near, as his mother had alerted everyone that it was time to go. Luckily Brandon's costume dragged under his feet, he had himself go invisible. Megan knew as soon as it had occurred. His mother drove over to the rich neighborhood, told him to have fun, and drove away.
"Wow, did that really just happen?" Megan asked.
"Yep, which is why I'm glad you were able to come with me." Brandon smiled being thankful for having a friend, keeping that monster of sorrow at bay.
So began their Halloween adventure, one street at a time, house by house. Their bags were beginning to become quite heavy. They ended up sitting down to take a break. The time was getting close to nine O'clock and almost time for his mother to come back to pick him up.
The wind was abnormally quiet, and the bushes kept rustling. This caught the children's attention as Brandon got up unafraid of anything that'll come at them.
This tall man appeared, and brandon's horrors came screaming back into his mind of that fateful night.
"Ooh I see you kids have alot of candy, hope you don't mind me helping myself." The man spoke, and reaching for the candy when Brandon snapped out of his flashback, and grabbed the man's arm.
"I think you better get your own candy..." Brandon's voice became monotonus, squeezing the man's arm, almost putting it to the breaking point.
The man yelped and ripped off Brandon's mask, only to see nothing there. The man screamed and ran, fearing for his pathetic life.
After everything was said and done with, and when nobody else was around. I decided to materialize myself.
"Hey Robbedobb!" Megan exclaimed as she hugged me.
"Hello little one." I chuckled softly.
"You look different. How come?" Brandon asked.
"Yes, as you can see, this is my human form. So I can blend in, and so not to scare everyone with my appearance."
"Oh, okay, that makes plenty of sense." Megan had said, suprising to her knowledge.
"But the reason of me appearing before you two is I wanted to congratulate you on honing your abilities in the physical world, as well as being able to control it so well, so fast. I am truly impressed." I pause for a moment then continue, "When you both get back to your home, come to my plane. We all have much to dicuss, it's now time I told you about my plan, and how you two are an extremely important part in it. Now I must go, Brandon, your mother is almost here, I will see you both later." After all was said, I dematerialized back into my spirit form, watching over them as they began to walk back to his mother to join me later tonight.
I now know that the two of them together, are truly an unstoppable force. As my ultimate plan, this is still the beginning of the rest to come...
