S/N= sons name
————————————————————
You loved your boy, you really did. Sometimes you just wished he hadn't grown up to be stubborn like his father."Ivar! Can you come here please."
Your sat your son down around an hour ago after finding him sniffling to himself behind a farm stable. But, through all your attempts of interrogation, he still wouldn't speak.
"What is it my dear." Ivar entered the room, leaning on the door way.
"He won't speak to me." You pouted gesturing to your son who seemed to be emotionless.
"Hm is that so S/N?" Your son looked up at Ivar, but still wouldn't speak.
"You're not speaking to your mother, why?" Ivar stumbled closer eyes narrowing at your son.
"Ivar that isn't necessary." You stepped closer so only he could hear you.
"He is upset."
"Why so?" Ivar said aloud. You smacked the back of his head, shaking your head.
"That is the point, I don't know."
Ivar thought for a moment, staring at his son closer, watching for emotions.
"I know what to do."
"S/N." He sang, your son actually looked at him for the first time.
"You tell me who hurt you, I will do anything you wish to them. They will not get away with upsetting my son."
You son giggled slightly, quickly covering it up with a sniffle.
"No one really hurt me dad." He sighed, hesitating to continue.
"They killed a deer. The deer was my friend." Ivar looked back at you when he began to cry.
"Listen to me my son." You rushed towards him, pulling yourself, Ivar and him into a hug.
"That deer was helping us. If he hadn't been sacrificed then-
You looked at Ivar so he would continue.
"Uh, then we would be very hungry."
"Are you saying i should go and thank him." Your son jumped up running out the door before either you or Ivar could answer.
One week later...
"What's wrong my dear." Ivar snuck up on you, following your gaze to the kitchen.
"He visits the kitchen everyday and talks to the pot." You laughed when your son began singing lullabies.
"I can't wait to tell him when he is older."
"Uh huh, I will be telling him this."
"Is that so." Ivar raised an eyebrow tickling your sides.
"Alright! Ok, you can tell him!" He stopped and kissed your forehead.
"But I'm telling him the three legged lady story." Ivar giggled as he walked away.
"Alright! You can think that."
