Let's See Alan

Once Annita gave us our orders we scattered. Yov went into Torana's room to keep her company and we went to search for this Alan.

"How could they have someone who can keep people asleep like this?" I asked myself out loud.

"I don't know, but we're going to take them down," Taylor said, his jaw set in determination. He was an amazing leader and always seemed to know what to do and what to say to make sure we all stayed calm and collected. When I first joined the guild I had a little crush on him but my love was unrequited. When I realized that I quickly got over it and Zax, Tayor, and I became fast and inseparable friends. Now and then when I looked at him I felt a flicker of something in my chest but ignored it.

We headed to our collective office and went to work contacting all of the members outside the guild through their communication devices. We told them to stop whatever work they were doing and to resume regular civilian lives for the time being. We didn't give much information for fear of the line being tapped although that was unlikely because the devices were specific to the guild and were on a different grid from the other electronics in Numinore.

Once I finished my part I sat back and sighed. I didn't know where to start searching for Alan.

"Don't look so down Fia," Zax said. "First things first we find Alexi and Grievous and then after that, we will find Alan."

"Yep," Taylor said and cracked his knuckles. "I'm gonna track their communication devices right now and then we'll go to them using both our powers." He went to his computer and his fingers flew over the keyboard, tracking where Alexi and Grevious could have gone. About two minutes later he perked up. "I got them." He said triumphantly. "Get ready to go."

"We're always ready." Zax countered.

"Of course you are." He said back with a smile. We all got up and headed out the door.

"So where are they?" I asked, following behind his tall frame.

"The place you guys followed that woman to before. They're at the anti-guild where Torana was tortured."

"Why would they be there?" I asked. "They came back here and wanted to be let in so why would they be there now?"

"They could be working for the enemy or they could have been captured," Zax said, his voice was grim. I grimaced and shook my head.

"No, they can't be working for the enemy. They were always so helpful and friendly."

"That's not what matters here and you know it." Taylor countered. "Where they loyal lies what matters. Somehow they were conveniently absent when Tink broke in and conveniently here when Torana come into her power. Yet when Torana was captured they were nowhere to be found but show up hours after she gets back. Something about them doesn't add up and I think finding them will give us the answers." I couldn't argue with that so we walked in silence until we got to the lobby entrance.

"Zax hold hands with Fia and Fia hold hands with me. We need to be fast and sneaky." I nodded and we did as he asked. I activated my power and felt a tug as my energy started to quickly drain but as soon as Taylor activated his power as well, the pull lessened. There was strength in numbers and if you were touching someone else and using your power at the same time it minimized the negative effect.

Taylor's ability was super speed but it felt like we were moving through molasses, time seemed to slow to almost a standstill. I glanced down at myself to make sure we were all invisible as Taylor opened the door and we climb outside. He knelt to lock the door and we were off, walking as fast we could hand in hand through the almost completely stopped crowd.
