The Guild

"God." I groaned, lying back in my bed again. " What is with you people and tests? Passing and failing and whatnot. And the whole not telling people?"

"Honestly it's kinda entertaining. But also we haven't even tested you yet so I don't know what your complaining about." Yov said and I glared at her while everyone else nodded their agreement. "What? We don't get much entertainment around here."

"How?! You work right next to the dark market. I'm sure there is a lot there to entertain you. And isn't that why they have the Entertainment Hub which I still haven't been to by the way."

"Girl you haven't been? We are so going later."

"Anyway!" Annita said, cutting into our lively conversation, "Lassy this is Taylor, Fia, and Zax. They will be a you around and giving you basic rules and information about this guild."

"Hi I'm Taylor, we already met. Pretty sure you remember me cutting open your neck."

"Yeah I remember," I grumbled. I looked at Taylor again. Wow really is super blond. Maybe I should start calling him blondie. Scary blondie. Yea that works. A short woman with caramel skin and red hair stepped forward.

"I'm Fianye but everyone calls me Fia." She stopped talking and looked off. I waited for her to volunteer more information but it was clear that was all she was going to say. Ok then.

"Where is Zax? ZAX!" Annita yelled, and a boulder of a man with a bald head shoved his way through the crowd and stood next to Fia. "Where you Zax?"

He shrugged, "I didn't want to be in the front. Too much energy exerted." I snickered, Lol me. He glanced and me and smiled back. "My name is Zax. I'm only 23, and yes, I know it's hard to believe." Zax seemed to be the most likable of the group. He smiled easily and they were real smiles.

"How about the Triplets start giving you the basic info and that tour of the guild in 10 minutes. Are you well enough to get up and walk around now lassy?"

"Yeah I think I'm ok-"

"Great! And when you're gone with that you and Yov can go to the bake shop up the road a little. get me some macaroons while you're there. 10 minutes! Chop chop! Everybody out while the girl dresses." She shooed everyone out the door and left me alone. I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom, showered, and got dressed in some generic clothes that had been left for me. When I looked in the mirror to watch myself comb my hair I was shocked. My normally tan skin was pale and my eyes bloodshot. My hair was straight instead of its usual waves and my be was even tinier than when I got here. I need to start eating again and fast. Have my body look slightly skeletal and weak frightened me. I hated being weak above all else. Joining this guild will be good for me because I'll learn how to be strong.

I put my hair in a bun so it didn't make my clothes wet and opened the door to my room. The Triplets stood up and Taylor motioned for me to walk beside him. It was clear he was the leader even though Zax was more welcoming. We walked down the hallway after hallway, each one completely bare of windows or any markers. They all were grey, concrete, and had a door in the middle of the hall.

"Where do these doors we keep passing lead?" I asked when the silence became unbearable.

"Many places. Kitchens, rooms, game rooms, another hallway, the training rinks, or exercise rooms, the armory. You'll learn in time which is which. Some doors are fake door or exits as well. It is impossible to find your way here without a guide for about a month or two."

"I can imagine. I'm already list. Everything looks the same."

"You'll notice very subtle differences as time goes on. It's meant to confuse intruders."
