The capital city of the kingdom of Fiore is Crocus. "The city of blooming flowers." It plays host to the annual Wizard festival, the Grand Magic Games. At it's center is the castle of the king, the Palace of Flowers and Light, Mercurius. And on a hill to the west, a stadium, the stadium for the Grand Magic Games, the Doms Frau. And at the center of town... Us.

Y/n pov.

Everyone was collapsed on the ground, still in pain from the second origin. Master walks to us with Asuke on his shoulders.
"We've done all the registration work. Ah ha ha ha! Now we show the world the power of Fairy Tail!"
The crowd laughs when they hear master and Natsu shakes his fists at them.
"Anybody who wants to laugh, let 'em laugh!" Master's says.
"What does last rank mean?" Asuke asks.
"Dammit!" Natsu says, quivering.
"If you say so, I will." Happy says, turning around to laugh at Jet and Droy. They stare at him shocked.
"He looked at us and laughed!"
"Listen! Those thirty million jew- Ahem... The top rank in Fiore is within our grasp! If we can't grab it, then I won't be able to look the first master, who saved our lives, in the eyes."

Later on..

In the Grand Magic Games, each guild forms a team of five wizards, and the teams compete. Once we got back to our training camp, Master chose five for the competition. Natsu. Gray. Erza. I was pretty much expecting that. But Wendy and Lucy were chosen too.

"Huhhh?" Lucy says.
"I just can't! Laxus or Gajeel can do it, can't they?" Wendy asks. "They're not back yet." Master says, sighing.
"The master chooses not based on individual strength, but on team cohesion! Now that you are chosen, we expect your best!" Erza says.
"Yeah, that's true."
"I'll try really hard!"
"If we really want it, I'd preferred Gildarts, Laxus, Mirajane, but..."
I elbow him. "You're saying that out loud!"
Everyone walks off to prepare but Master stops me from leaving.
"Y/n, you'll be participating too. On Fairy Tail team B." I look at him confused.
"What do you mean? I though there was only one team."
He pressing a finger on his lips. "Meet your team later." I nod and head off to check out the town.

I walk along the paths and take a deep breath. It smells like flowers. I find a flower vendor and I see a beautiful crown made from golden lotus blossoms. I reach for it but a gloves hand intercepts me. I look up to see a blonde man with a scar cut through his eyebrow. He ignores me as he pays for it. He turns on his heels and walks away.
"W-Wait!" I say, grabbing his wrist. "I was going to buy that!"
He stops and looks at me. He stares at me and I see how his pupils are almost feline.
"This?" He asks, holding up the crown. I nod and smile at him.
"It's my first time here in Crocus. It really is the city of blooming flowers." He nods and smiles at me.
"You've never been here before?! You must let me show you around! I may even give you the crown..."
I sigh and nod. "Okay, but only because I want it really bad." He links our arms and pulls me along.
"Yes, of course."

We walk together and he points out some of the building. "That's a great place to get ice cream. Would you like some?"
My eyes grow wide and I nod quickly. I basically drag him into the building and I run to the counter.
"I'll have..." I scan the choices and my eyes land on one in particular. "I'll have 2 scoops of dark chocolate cherry and 1 scoop vanilla bean. Dark chocolate syrup and can you put it in a waffle cone, but put the cone in a bowl."
The cashier stares at me with wide eyes and then shakes away his shock. I give him the money and then I turn to the blonde man. He was staring at me too, wonder filling his eyes.
"Either you really like ice cream or you really know what you want." I nod and smile at him.
"Both."
After he orders his, we sit at a booth and I look out the window.
"What are you thinking about?" He asks.
I sigh and move my gaze to him. "I'm at an ice cream shop with a random stranger. This is not how I pictured this day going." He puts a hand on his chest, wounded.
"Sting." I look at him confused.
"I didn't mean for that to hurt your feelings."
He laughs and puts out his hand. "No, that's my name. I'm Sting Eucliffe. Now I'm not that much of a random stranger."
I laugh and shake his hand. "My nam-"
"Nope, don't tell me... I'll guess."
The waiter drops off our ice cream and I instantly took a big bite. He sticks the spoon in his mouth and stares at me as if he's reading my soul.
"Your names special.... beautiful even. Your friends have nicknames for you, but sometimes you like it more when they call you by your real name."
I gasp. "How do you know that! You're magic!"
He laughs and sticks the spoon on his nose. "Duh, I am a wizard. That's why I'm here anyway."
I take another huge bit of my ice cream. "Are you here for the Games?"
He nods and takes a bite of his.
"So am I! I hope we get to battle each other. That would be fun. I'll kick ya around a little as pay back for stealing my flower crown." I joke.
Sting didn't laugh, instead he looks at me with a serious exspession on his face. "I'm going to pray that we don't get paired together. I don't want to hurt you."
I smile at him. "You won't hurt me. I'm a strong wizard. Plus, the Games are just games. It's not to the death or anything."
Sting looks up from his empty bowl.
"Not for my guild, they're not. It's like or death. There is no losing for us."
I glance at my emblem on the inside on my forearm. He glances at it and looks at me with a small smile on his face, it doesn't teach his eyes.
"You're from Fairy Tail?" He asks.
I smile as I run a finger along my emblem. "Yeah, and you are from Saber Tooth."
He freezes in shock and then laugh, a low chuckle. "You know what? I'm not even surprised you know that. Do you guess?"
I laugh and shake my head. "You have the emblem on your arm, you dork."
He glaces at his emblem and looks back to me. He pulls the flower crown from his pocket and places it on my head.
"There you go. You looks great!" I blush.
"Do you know my name yet?"
He taps his finger against his chin and squints his eyes. "Well, you're from Fairy Tail... I've never seen you around, so that means you are either new or part of the Sirius Island group. You're not new... You wouldn't look at your emblem like your looking at a family photo. If you're from Sirius Island, you must be strong. Acnologia didn't mess around. He blew the whole island up, right?"
I nod, wincing at the memory. Sting takes note of it and winks at me.
"Also, you're extremely beautiful. Probably one of the top beauties in your guild. I've might have heard of you before... Seeing you here, in front of me, leads me to believe that you are adventurous. Not just anyone would follow a 'random stranger' around town. I like that about you, but it also can lead to danger. I can name multiple guys in my guild that would grab you and take to their rooms in an instant."
I blush and shrug my shoulders. "You didn't seem like that type."
He raises an eye brow at me. "You never know, princess."
I laugh. "That's not my name!" He shrugs.
"I know. Your name is Y/n."
I grin at him. "Final answer?" I ask. He nods, determined.
"Final answer." He confirmed. I break out laughing.
"How did you get that right?! You are more that a wizard! Genius more like it!"
He shrugs with a winning smile on his face. He pulls out a phone and looks at me with a questioning look.
"Can I take your picture? Rouge will never believe that I just ate ice cream with a girl."
I laugh and nod, posing with a R&R hand sign. Sting snaps the picture and shows it to me. I actually looked really good. The lighting highlighted my skin and my hair was pulled into a french braid. I was wearing a pair of leggings with a shirt that read, "Oh. I am slain." (A quote from Hamlet) I was smiling at the camera and the flower crown made my, already golden eyes, look molten.
"Dang, you should become a professional. You made me look good!" He laughs and puts his phone away.
"I didn't do anything, just pointed the camera."
I take out my phone and look at the time. "Oh! Jeez, look at the time! I gotta go meet up with my team!"
He nods and stands up. I follow him out the door. "Where you going? Maybe I can walk you there."
I tell him the address and we walk together. When I get to the Inn, I look at Sting.
"It was really nice to meet you, Sting. Even if we don't get to fight, I'll still cheer you on."
He smiles, placing a hand on the back of his neck. "What team are you on? So I can look for you."
"Fairy Tail team B."
He nods and smiles at me. "I really enjoyed our time together, Y/n. I hope we can hangout in the future. Maybe next time I can guess what type of magic you use?"
I laugh at him. "Doubt it. I'll guess what type of magic you use. Right now even." He grins at me.
"What type of magic do I use then?"
I tap his eyebrow. "Your pupils are pointed and your canines are too." I take a step closer and smell him. "You smell like dragon, too. So... That either makes you a Dragon Slayer or a shape shifter. I vote on the first one."
He freeze and looks at me with shock. "How did you know that?"
I grin showing him my teeth. "Takes one to know one." I laugh at his shocked exspession and I watch him take a deep breath, taking in my scent.
"You smell like dragon too. I just assumed you hang out with Natsu or Gajeel. What type of slayer are you?"
I laugh and shrug. "We can talk about that the next time we meet."
He nods and I head into the inn. "Nice to meet you, Sting. See you soon."
"You too, Y/n. Hopefully very soon."

I walk and find our team room. I basically run into Mystogan.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" He flinches and pulls me into the room.
"Y/n! We've been waiting for you." I see Laxus, Gajeel, and Mira, all siting on the ground.
"Sorry to keep you waiting guys!" Laxus scoots over for me and I plop down beside him.
"What are we discussing?" I ask.
Laxus laughs and takes my hand. "We were just talking about what we should do if you never showed up by 12."
I laugh. "It's only 8. I'm early."
I pick myself up off the ground and walk to the bathroom.
"I'm getting in the shower. Yell if you need me!" I walk into the bathroom and shut the door behind me.

No one's pov.

Laxus, Mystogan, Gajeel, and Mira sat in the living room in silence. Gajeel excused himself to take a nap and Mystogan followed soon after. Mira looks at Laxus, confused.
"What's wrong?" She asks. He tugs on his hair and groans.
"She smells different." He forces out.
Mira laughs. "Maybe that's why she's in the shower?"
Laxus shakes his head aggressively. "She smells like another dragon. His sent is all over her."
Mira tilts her head. "What do you mean? Like Natsu or Gajeel? What are you trying to say? That Y/n is cheating on you?"
Mira asks, angry. Laxus groans. "She doesn't smell like anyone I have every smelled."
He takes a deep breath. "She's not cheating on me... I know that."
"If you know that, then stop thinking she is. This town is full of wizards. Maybe she ran into a dragon slayer. It doesn't mean she slept with him or anything."
Laxus nods. "I don't know what's coming over me..."
Mira laugh at him. "You're just being a typical jealous boyfriend." Mira comforts him. Laxus runs a finger along his scar and sighs.

Time skip

At 12, clocks ring across the town. A huge 3D projection appears in the sky.
"To all the guild who have gathered for our Grand Magic Games... Good morning! We will now whittle down the 113 teams competing to eight, and to do that... We start our preliminary competition! There are more and more guilds participating every year, and we don't want to spread the fun too thin! So this year, the competition will be between eight teams only! The contest rules are simple!"
The buildings raise from the ground.
"We wish to engage you in a race! Your goal will be the stadium, Doms Frau! The first eight teams will enter the official tournament."
A path appears in front of us.
"You may use whatever magic you wish. There are no limits. The first eight teams to make it to the goal pass the preliminary contest! And if all five members are not present, you will be eliminated!"
We look at each other and nod.
"One... More... Thing... If any of you should lose your lives in the labyrinth, the organizers bear no responsibility!"
The pumpkin man takes a breath and shouts, "Let the preliminary contest to the Grand Magic Games, the Sky Labyrinth... Begin!"

We take off, running down the path. At the end of the race/ maze the pumpkin man met us.
"Congratulations. You have passed the preliminary contest." He says, clapping. "You've got second place!"
We cheer and head back to the inn.
"Great job guys! Hopefully Natsu and the others make it too!" I say, looking at Laxus.
He glanced at me, but turns his head the other direction. I flinch like he slapped me. I look at Mira with a raised eyebrow. She shrugs and I try to shrug it off too. What's wrong with him?
