kairi's pov ❋
i woke up surrounded by darkness. i felt a strange feeling rise from the pit of my stomach, causing me to lean over and puke out my guts. the liquid coming from my stomach burned my throat. i felt like poop.
when i finally calmed down i tried looking around again but there was nothing. deciding to find my way home, i grabbed my phone and stood up. when i got on my feet i heard leaves crunching not to far away from me. i stopped moving and looked around again. nothing.
i was just about to move before i heard more leaves and branches snapping. i thought my mind was fucking with me until i heard growling. the crunching got even closer. i wanted to run but i didn't want to be chased. i slowly started walking towards.... well idk. maybe coming out in the woods wasn't such a good idea.
i wasn't even able to take another step before a fox lunged at me. i fell back landing on the hard ground, hitting my back so hard. the shriek i let out could be heard miles away. the fox dug his claws in my face, slicing my cheek.
call me a baby but i started screaming and crying. don't lie you would've too!
with all the strength left in me i kicked the fox and ran as fast as i could. i didn't know where i was going. i ran until i couldn't hear the footsteps behind me. i slowed my pace and continued walking. i could feel the blood mixed with tears flowing down my cheeks. before i could comprehend what was happening i was home.
i ran in the house. my mom looked at my flustered.
kai's mom: oh my god kairi. what happened
she got up from where she was sitting and pulled me to the sink, splashing the water over the huge cuts.
me: i was in the backyard and fox came up and attacked me
what? it wasn't a total lie. the woods are technically in my backyard.
she pulled a small white box out of the cabinet. she opened it and pulled out the antiseptic spray. she covered my eyes and sprayed my cheek. i winced slightly due to the sting. my mom took her hand away from my eyes and looked at me.
me: what?
kai's mom: so what happened today?
me: what do you mean?
kai's mom: alejandro told the principal some kids were picking on you and he called me.
me: oh yea um..... some stupid homophobic boys. i'm fine though i promise.
