i held kairi tight as we danced across the floor. his tiny hands fit perfectly in mine.
when me an kairi first met at the 8th grade dance, this song (legends by kelsea ballerini) was playing.
flashback, mattia's pov ❋
me: shut up alvaro! at least i have a date
alvaro: yea a date who's not even dancing with you
me: fuck you
supervisor: language
me: oops.
alvaro: dude look at that kid. crying like a baby
alvaro points out a short kid with black fluffy hair. he was sitting in the corner crying. i shoved alvaro in the chest.
me: don't laugh at him.
alvaro: jeez sorry. let's go talk to him
me: okay
we walked over and sat in the chairs beside him. i could tell he knew we were there but he kept his head low.
me: hey you okay?
kairi: yes, go away
alvaro: you don't look okay
i shoved alvaro again.
alvaro: ah, dude?!
me: what happened?
kairi: vallyk punched me and took my bracelet that my dad gave me.
me: oh... wait here with alvaro.
i got up and walked over to vallyk. him and mikey were talking.
me: hey
vallyk: yea
me: you took his bracelet
i pointed to the kid
vallyk: yea so?
me: give it back
vallyk: haha make me
mikey stepped up next to vallyk.. i guess that was supposed to scare me? i looked at the crying kid then back at vallyk, then lifted him by his shirt collar.
vallyk: okay chill out here!
he took the bracelet from his pocket then dropped it on the floor. like seriously the dirty floor? i threw him to the floor then picked up the bracelet and dusted it off.
i walked back over to the kid and handed him the bracelet.
me: there you go
kairi: thank you!
me: what's your name?
kairi: kairi
me: ok kairi, i'm mattia and this is alvaro. if anyone bothers you let me know
kairi: okay
kairi looked at the bracelet and put it back on his wrist. he started humming to the song
kairi: i like this song
me: me too
alvaro: wha-
me: if you guys tell anyone that i'll beat ur asses
supervisor: LANGUAGE
me: sorry damn. kairi do you vape?
alvaro: ew mattia
me: shut up!
kairi; um no i don't
me: oh okay
for the rest of the night we sat together and talked about random stuff. and i did keep my word. anytime anyone messed with kairi, i beat the shit out of them.
