Life day was going to be as exciting as it gets. Leia looked stunning in her purple dress, her hair was in a long braid that loops into a bun. Han had combed his hair, Chewie actually groomed himself, too. Luke was too tired to go to the party, he slipped on his outfit, washed his face and brushed out his hair. "Are we ready?" he asked his friends.

"Remember Luke," Han smiled at him "we got your back."

Luke tapped his foot nervously. Han has been 'hyping him up' to go up to a girl and just dance with her. Luke is currently watching Han and Leia dance together lovingly, staring into each other's eyes. He gets up and approaches a blonde-haired girl and taps her shoulder. He sticks out his hand, "I'm Luke."

She smiles at him "hey, Luke, I'm Evaan Verlaine." her hair was braided and long, she was a little taller than he was. "You look nice today," Luke complimented "I suppose this is the part where I ask you to dance?"

Evaan smiles "are you nervous?"

"Kind of," Luke admits.

"Don't be it's fine." she reassures, she has hazel eyes that are like the colour of honey. She worked with the rebels, usually she is used to the orange uniform, but tonight she is wearing a white flowing dress. "I know you," she smiles, realising she'd seen him on base before "you're Princess Leia's brother, yeah?"

"Yeah," he replies as they move slowly to the music, he now recognised Evaan, too. Evaan always calls Leia 'ma'am' whenever she passes. His eyes drift off to Han, he was getting more handsome and more attractive by the hour. Evaan notices his staring and chuckles. "Oh, I see." Evaan smiles, signalling him to join her at the table. Han and Leia notice this and smile at each other, finally thinking Luke won't be single.

"So you like the Corellian?" she smiled, leaning towards him. Luke blushed. "Maybe," he replied quietly, fiddling with his fingers. She laughed "that's okay, I don't judge. Leia actually invited me privately. I'm sort of like her best friend, I'm going to be the maid of honour at the wedding, what's your position?"

Luke looked up at her, confused "they haven't told me any position yet." he was kind of disappointed that Leia and Han had told a rebel pilot and not him. Evaan then smiled at him.

"So, you're into guys?"

Luke nods.

"Well, I'm into girls," she smiled. Luke realised where this was going.

"Evaan and Luke?" Han asked Leia, smiling, holding her gently. Leia shrugs and leans into his chest "well, they would be good together."

Luke looks back to his friends and to Evaan. "What are you suggesting?" he asked her, Evaan smiled. "We can be - a couple. A fake one. You know, like those straight kids holding hands and sh**?"

"No!" Luke cried, realising what she wants to do. Leia was happy with Han. Although they both want the other so badly - they can't ruin their beautiful relationship. "If we truly loved them, we wouldn't ruin it for them!" he snapped back. She rolls her eyes and taps her fingers, "don't you see where I'm getting at Luke? You want Han. I want Leia. Han and Leia are getting married. We can be each other's wingman." Luke scoffs and folds his arms.

"Evaan, I just want to be friends."

"So do I, oh, please call me Eve, or Ev." Evaan smiles, looking over to the couple "but do you really want to be heartbroken forever? Knowing that the one you love is gone?"

"Listen, I just want the best for Leia and Han. Leia is my sister...and Han -" his voice breaks and he looks to the ground "he's my everything." he looks up at Evaan's satisfied smirk, Luke continues "but that means I want them to be happy. I'm happy if they're happy."

The blonde haired girl shook her head, leaning forward and taking Luke's hands. Their eyes meet. To her, Luke's eyes are like a murky blue lake with hints of flashing gold underneath the water."Luke," she whispers softly "you know you won't be." Luke pulls his hands away "enough trickery, I'm not going to lie and cheat our way into love." he tells her sternly.

"Just consider it. Because trust me, you would want to take this offer." Evaan said with her eyebrows narrowed, briefly touching his shoulder as she walked out, heels clicking against the tiles. Han and Leia walk up to him. "So, you and Evaan?" Leia smiled. Something pulled on Luke's heartstrings when he smiled. He can't break his sister's heart if he were to take the partnership with Evaan. Luke looked to the ground and stood, facing his friends.

"No," he said sternly "I mean...I think we're friends."

Han pats his shoulder and winks at him "see, you're a real catch!" Luke laughs nervously. Stop saying that Han. Stop saying that in your angelic voice.

TWO WEEKS LATER

Back to the base. Home. Leia and Han were discussing their wedding, they had told Luke to be the 'officator' or the priest - someone who says 'you may kiss the bride' and all that crap. Luke agreed although, he wondered why Rahm, her adopted father could do it.

Then he remembered that Darth Vader blew up Alderaan. Leia wanted Luke to walk down the aisle. Of course he said yes, who else would do it? Chewie? Han's best man is Lando(although Chewbacca wanted to be in, Chewie respected his actions) and Leia's maid of honour is - Evaan. Luke's fists curled when that name was mentioned.

She just wants to be close to Leia. Take advantage of her when she's drunk. Evaan and Leia may be BBFS but Luke can snuff out a cheat when he sees one. Han and Leia were equally excited for their big day. Luke was, too.

The thing about Han is that he constantly pulls on his heartstrings like a harp, playing a sweet melody throughout his body, a roaring fire of a chorus, bursting into flames, a whole orchestra of a melody so strong that it rings in his ear. Passion. Love. Peace. He knew that his 'flares' of passion were slowly dying as the wedding gets closer. Maybe he can move on.
