"Okay, Winn." I said as Monel and I walked into the group of agents that were ready to fight back. I looked at Imra who smiled in support. I stood up tall and spoke"Set the clock. We have 23 hours to get Alex back. Let's get to work."

"Imra and I will fly over the city and take a look around, while Monel goes to the bar. He will talk to the aliens to see what they know. J'nn will take charge of the DEO and get each agent doing something productive. Then, Winn you're on computers." I take a deep breath and then speak again to the group, "If anything pops up, call me."

Everyone nodded at my commands and before we separated, I turned to Monel. He was about to leave like the others, but I grabbed his arm to stop him.

"Don't do anything stupid." I say to him looking at him sternly.

"Do I ever?" He said laughing as if this situation was normal.

"Monel, I'm serious." I said to him, squeezing his arm tighter. Somehow he always knew how to ease the tension in a stressful situation.

"I know you are." He said as he hugged me. "I'll be fine." Monel whispered into my ear before he let me go and flashed his boyish smile. "Now, go find Alex." He pushed me into the direction of the door, and I smiled with content.

Deep down I was just so afraid he would do something that I couldn't fix. I prayed that he would do as I said and stay out of trouble, but I still remained nervous.

"You ready?" Imra asked me as I stepped outside.

"More ready than I ever have been." I said as we both launched in the air. WE swiped over the towers and found nothing. Imra and I had split up, going different directions. I sat there in the middle of everything, the world was centered by me. I closed my eyes focusing on every small noise.

I heard airplanes, children's laughter, birds chirping, and leaves hitting the ground. I searched for Alex's voice or the ninja's. There was nothing, so I went down to the streets. I start running up the blocks looking in each store and coffee shop.

"Kara." I heard from a far. I followed it and ran like hell. It was Alex, it had be. It sounded so muffled and distant until I reached the spot.

"Alex?" I said as I approached a girl.

"Kara." Imra spoke as she turned her head to look at me. It wasn't Alex, instead I had imagined it was her. I felt the emotions of sadness hit me through and through. I started to walk towards her slower.

"Imra what are you-" I was cut off.

"Stay there! Don't come any closer." She yelled from a few feet away. She looked nervous now as I focused on her expression. I looked at the ground and air around her confused at what was wrong. Then, I saw it. Another small yellow glowing rock. She was stepping on it.

"What the hell?" I said from a far.

"It's some kind of bomb. You can hear the ticking." She said as it grew quiet again. I did hear it ticking. "A pressure plate, I'm assuming." I looked back up at her. "You can't come any closer, I don't know where it starts and ends." She looked desperately at me so I'd listen.

"I'll go under the ground and see where it's-" I was cut off once again.

"No! Go find Alex. She doesn't have much time left." She yells at me.

"I'm not leaving you." I said I backed away and started to make my way under the ground. As I got into the drains, I received a phone call.

"Kara? What's going on?" Monel said through the phone.

"We ran into a problem. Did you get any leads?" I asked him through the phone.

"No." He bluntly said, "What problem?" Monel asked upset.

"Imra stepped on a bomb. I'll find a way to get her off, it'll just take some time." I said slightly unsure. Honestly, I wasn't sure how long it'd take me.

"Kara, we have 2 hours until time is up!" I heard Winn yell through the phone.

"Kara," Monel said through the phone waiting for me to say something. I had to choose between Imra and Alex. I wanted Alex to be saved, but how could I just leave Imra?

"Alex-" I said barely being able to get out the words, but then being cut off again.

"We got a lead!" Monel yelled through the phone. "You take care of Imra. We'll get Alex." Monel hung up the phone and I felt relieved. I started to get to work.
