"Your friends have officially wasted," a man, most probably in his late thirties, glanced at his golden wrist watch, "Twenty-four whole hours."
Taehyung grits his teeth in anger as he looks up at Floyd, who flashed him a cocky smirk in return.
"I wonder what they're doing: they've arrived in Philadelphia this morning," Floyd walks over to the laptop in front of a silent Soora, "or at least that's what the tracker showed us."
"There's no news about the president yet..." Soora says in a hushed tone.
"They better kill him and his stupid vice," Floyd uttered in a low tone before his mischievous eyes fell on Taehyung again, "or else it's over for you, boy."
The younger man stayed quiet, his mind clouded with thoughts about Soora's betrayal. He was seething silently while he ignored the stinging sensation coming from various parts of his body. His lower lip was busted, his left cheek was bruised, and his chained wrists were starting to. He could also feel pain shooting up from his torso.
"Soora, baby," Floyd calls the short-haired female, "watch him for me while I head out for a moment, alright?"
"Of course, babe." Soora answers with a genuine smile on her face, at which Taehyung scowled at. After sharing a kiss together with Soora, Floyd walks to the exit of the dimly-lit room.
"Be a good boy while I'm gone, okay Kim?" He grins at the chained male before he leaves.
Taehyung kept his head low, ignoring the constant glances Soora was sending his way. He stays still, even after hearing a laptop shut close and the clicking of heels nearing him.
"Taehyung."
The blond ignored Soora's voice.
"It's not too late to change sides. Floyd still has his offer standing, you know--"
"Shut the f(lower) up, I'm not hearing your s(hoot)."
Soora grits her teeth at Taehyung's attitude, resisting the urge to hurt the shackled male. Since he woke up, he never said anything to her. He just cursed at Floyd, but not at her. This lead the short-haired female to think Taehyung actually cared about her, and she had the power to convert him into one of theirs.
When in reality, Taehyung's mad at her the most.
He was just afraid that he'd end up hurting her feelings as soon as he opens his mouth to talk to her, and he was aware that that could get himself killed. So his best course of action was to ignore her presence.
But it looks like that was going to backfire real soon.
"Taehyung-ah..." Soora crouched directly in front of the chained blond and flashed him a sympathetic look. "Look at yourself. If you keep on being hard-headed, you'll end up worse than your state now." She stated, still trying her best to convince Taehyung. But he remained unmoving.
"If you're expecting Ra Victorium and your own league to save you, I suggest you don't. Because even if they do the task," Soora lets a wicked smirk curl up her lips when Taehyung decided to look at her, "we still won't give you to them."
Taehyung glowered at the girl, "You scums won't get away with this."
"Oh, but we will, Taehyungie!" Soora giggles, now a little happy because the male spared her a glance, even though his eyes had ill intent in them. "In case they find us here, we've prepared a surprise party to handle them. Don't underestimate our forces, Taehyung."
Soora stands, walking back to where her laptop was.
"They just know too much... we can't let all of your friends wander around any longer. In fact, it's the same case as you," Soora turns around and sent Taehyung a knowing stare, "but thanks to me, Floyd will spare you. Only you."
"Stupid." Taehyung lets out a dead chuckle. "After spending months close to Ra Victorium for more than two months, and staying with my league for 3 whole years, you still haven't learned anything."
"What, you're gonna go sentimental on me now?" Soora rolls her eyes and leaned on the wooden table behind her as she crossed her arms on her chest. Taehyung shakes his head to the sides, a sigh escaping past his lips.
In a barely audible tone, Taehyung whispered.
"I should've trusted her instead."
Soora managed to hear him though, due to their quiet atmosphere. She knew fully well who the beaten male was referring to, and she didn't like it one bit.
"You're better off with us, Taehyung. Floyd's way more successful than your little gang could ever hope to be." Soora snarled at the thought of a certain raven-haired female that she once pretended to be a subordinate of. And to mention that girl was younger than her? Unbelievable.
" 'Little'? 'Gang'?" Taehyung's deep laugh bounced off the walls, his head now rising up to look at the older female.
"You're an idiot." The blond bitterly comments.
'That's it.' Soora glared at Taehyung, but before she even stalks closer to where he sat, a gunshot from outside startled her. More shots followed, accompanied by a series of aggressive shouting. Soora disregarded the male and rushed to take a look through the CCTV footages in her laptop.
She heard gunshots but she didn't know where they were coming from.
She couldn't see anything in every feed. Just their men being shot down to the ground by the stranger's wearing black masks to cover the entirety of their faces.
"What's happening?" She mumbles underneath her breath; she still couldn't wrap her brain around what's all of a sudden taking place right outside the worn down facility they were in.
"You see, Soora?" Taehyung spoke up, recognizing one of the yelling voices outside. Soora hissed inwardly as the realization hit her like a ton of bricks.
"The little gang you're talking about seems like it ain't so little now, don't you think?"
