Momo stared at herself in the mirror, sweat dripping down her forehead when she finished her routine she sat on the wooden dance floor. She didn't know what to do or how to react to anything anymore.
"You're going to hurt yourself." Mina's voice had a soothing tone to it, but was laced with a warning.
"I'm fine. I'm drinking water and taking breaks." Momo sighed.
"You should be resting." Mina snapped. "You already slipped on the stage a few days ago. You have a brace on your ankle for crying out loud! You need to rest Momo." Mina frowned. Momo looked down at her left ankle. She hated herself for slipping on stage. But Mina was right. It was never going to get better if she kept putting weight on it and dancing through the pain. She looked over at her dance partner, noticing a different aura around her. "Why are you staring at me?" She frowned.
"Chae asked you to marry her didn't she." Momo glared. Mina's cheeks flushed pink, hiding her left hand away from Momo.
"No." She lied.
"Can I see it?" Momo sighed. Mina hesitated, but walked up to her best friend. She showed her the small ring, a smile appearing on the young girl's face. " I'm happy for you. I really am." She smiled.
"Thanks." Mina whispered.
Sana had slowly gained her feelings back, she stopped taking her medicine, finally feeling genuine feelings instead of forced ones. She knew they were real when she went out to eat with her friends and ordered her favorite food again. When she took a bite, it was as if she had tasted it for the first time all over again.
Of course everyone laughed at her, but they were happy for her. Being able to feel that kind of joy all over again made her extremely happy.
The only other time she felt extremely happy was when she was with her sisters, all of them just lounging around not worrying about anything.
Today was one of those days as Sana was lounging on the couch, laptop on her lap as she looked over her essay for her class. She was going through making major edits when a little notification popped up with a message.
Sooyoungah: Sooooo if you aren't busy tonight I can totally blow off this party I'm supposed to go to and take you somewhere nice? ;)
Sana bit her lip, smiling at the message.
Sana: when do I need to be ready?
Sana hit enter, going back to her essay. She was half way done editing her work when another message came through.
Sooyoungah: hmm. Not too late. We both have class early. So maybe like seven? I'll have you home by eleven :)
Sana smiled, immediately accepting her invite. It was only two in the afternoon. It gave her time to still be lazy before she would go out.
Momo scrolled through social media ever since Sana's peeling she had hardly posted. Minus the times her and her friends went out. The girls looked so happy together. She saw a recent post, she smiled at it until she read the caption and comments...
Satang: You saved me from the lowest point in my life <3
Soojoy: Love you too <3333
Momo frowned.. maybe it was just another sister. She shook her head clicking on the girl's profile. Seeing her posts... pictures of her and Sana together being her most recent photos.
"Why do you look like you're about to cry?" Momo looked up at her dorm mate. "Momorin?" Mina frowned.
"Is it possible to have two people you love?" Momo whispered. Mina frowned, setting her book down and comforting her best friend. She held her tightly as she cried. Sobbing into her chest.
"Have you started peeling? Or have any of the same symptoms she had?" Mina frowned. Momo shook her head, she only thing she felt was upset.
Sana walked down the path from the dorm to the road, seeing Sooyoung leaning against the hood of her car. She quickened her pace, engulfing the taller girl in a tight embrace.
"You smell nice." Sana whispered.
"Compared to....?" Sooyoung laughed.
"It's a new perfume right?" She asked while sniffing her neck again. "So sweet like candy." She breathed.
"I'm glad you like it." She chuckled. "You did something different with your hair... I really like it." Her hand ran through Sana's now shorter and darker hair.
"Thanks." Sana whispered. "Where are we going?" She asked.
"Well we could go out to eat. Or we could go somewhere warm." Sooyoung laughed slightly as they both got into her car.
"I can eat." Sana smiled at her.
The two had settled on a small restaurant not too far from them. Both of them shedding their jackets and sitting across from one another.
"Where did you find this place?" Sana asked her.
"I came here once with my roommate. She was trying to cheer me up after I had failed my history class freshman year of college." Sooyoung explained.
Sana smiled, knowing the feeling. She never failed any of her classes, but she always felt like she did. Both of them talked, various things coming up as their dinner date went on. Sana had glanced down at her arm, the phrase missing now. She frowned as she looked over at Sooyoung's arms, seeing her phrase gone as well.
"Ready to go?" She whispered.
"Yeah.." Sana mumbled. She quickly put on her coat, walking out of the restaurant with her. "Sooyoung... What did your phrase say?" Sana asked.
"Mm.. something about perfume." Sooyoung slid out of her jacket, glancing at her arm. "Where did it go?" She frowned. She looked up at Sana, who had the same look in her eyes. "Wait..."
"Mine's gone too..." She whispered.
"Do you think.... we're meant for each other?" She asked. Sana shrugged, afraid of what to do next. The two continued to walk in silence to her car. Neither of them talking on the way to Sana's dorm either. It wasn't until she pulled up to Sana's dorm that one of them spoke.
"I'm afraid." Sana whispered.
"Me too." Sooyoung replied. "I... I do like you Sana... I just..." she shuttered at the thought of her past.
"I know... I'm afraid of peeling again... What if it does happen again?" She frowned.
"Then I guess we can make the most of right now?" Sooyoung tried to stay positive. "I mean.. We can just keep doing what we're doing. Hanging out and going on dates... See where it takes us.. we don't have to jump into anything like others sometimes do." She explained.
"I.. I think I would like that." Sana smiled. Sooyoung gave her a small smile in return, causing Sana to see a quick flash of color before returning back to her dull greys. She blinked again, shaking her head slightly. There was no way she could be gaining everything back. At least not now.
