"You're sure about this?" Mina gasped, her attention on the small box in Momo's hands.
"A hundred percent. It feels right now. We've been together for over two years now." She shrugged. "And what do you know?! You've been married since your second year of college." She hissed at her best friend.
"Yeah, but I was dating Chaeyoung for years... You guys.. Have had a bit of a... What's worse than rough..." She mumbled as she thought of another word to use. Momo looked to her other friend Nayeon, who shrugged her shoulders.
"Come on, you guys have been with me through a lot.... And you went to college with Sana, so you know both of us really well now." Momo pointed at Nayeon who let out a breath.
"If you feel it's right, then its right." Nayeon finally smiled at her, giving one approval. Both looked to Mina who was still deep in thought. "Minari." Nayeon tapped the table in front of her.
"Sorry." Mina shook her head, letting out a small sigh. "I'm in. What are we wearing." She finally answered.
Momo explained what she wanted to do, Nayeon of course making it a bigger deal and freaking out when Momo wanted to keep it more low key.
"Come on Mina. You perform. Have your boss let us use the space." Nayeon scoffed.
"One, the theatre is not meant for this. Two, my boss would be furious if we broke in and used it anyway!" Mina pointed. "I'm very grateful for this job and I prefer to keep it." She growled at her friend.
"Sana doesn't like big gestures like that though.." Momo frowned. "She's very subtle.."
"Exactly." Mina smirked at Nayeon, who rolled her eyes in response. "Why not just do something intimate then." Mina finally suggested.
"Mina talking about sex?!" Nayeon gasped.
"I'm about this close to punching you." Mina frowned while holding her index finger dangerously close to her thumb. "Just take her somewhere relaxing, nice or somewhere you two just love. Or heck, somewhere she loves. Don't do anything big, just hold her and tell her how much you love her. Then ask her." Mina shrugged her shoulders, looking down at her own wedding band.
"Is that how Chaeyoung asked you?" Momo asked.
"No." Mina laughed.
"How did she ask you?" Nayeon asked.
"We went out for dinner and went to an art museum. I'm assuming her plan was to ask me there, but she panicked and left me for fifteen minutes claiming she had to find the restroom. Then when we got to her apartment, she started freaking out and just tripped over her own words." Mina chuckled while recalling the memory. "She was a stuttering mess. Eventually she took out the little box, and said that her plan was ruined, but at least she could still ask me." She whispered.
"You married a coward." Nayeon laughed.
"She kills bugs. All that matters." Mina pointed.
Momo felt her stomach turn itself into knots as she walked hand in hand with Sana through the park. The little black box that was only supposed to weight a few grams, felt like a million tons in her pocket as she walked. They had a wonderful dinner, both of them enjoying each other's company, and chatting about what had gone on during their day.
She couldn't help but think of everything that they had been through together already. Momo had seen Sana at her worst, and Sana had seen her at her worst. Heck, they even had a cat together.
"The sky is beautiful tonight." Sana whispered. Momo looked at her, raising her eyebrows at her. Sana let out a small laugh. "The night sky is all I can see clearly. Because everything is black and white. Yeah, a little bit is missing, but.. I still see it." She explained.
Momo looked up, seeing the dark sky with the little white stars. She smiled at Sana's words. Even though she couldn't see properly, she still tried to find the beauty in everything. Another reason why she loved her.
"Sana..." Momo mumbled. She had everything planned. Written down and planned. Memorized it all, and here she was, blanking on her entire speech she had. She had listed every reason why she loved her. And yet here she was, dumbfounded with her girlfriend's presence that she couldn't even think of proper words.
"Hm?" Sana stared at her, tilting her head slightly, waiting for anything to come out of her. "Momorin?" Sana waved her hand in front of Momo's face when she had stopped moving. "Hey." Sana laughed, snapping her fingers, getting her girlfriend out of her trance.
"Sorry." She chuckled nervously. "Um.. I do have something to ask you though." She asked.
"What is it?" Sana took a step closer to her. Holding both of her hands.
"Um.. I-I love you very much." She started. "And... And I..." Momo frowned, looking down at the ground. "I'm terrible at expressing how I feel... You know this." She sighed.
"Facts." Sana nodded.
"And.. I-I want to spend the rest of my life with you." She took in a breath, trying not to trip over her own words. She reached in her pocket, pulling out the little box and opening it. "Will you marry me?" She asked quietly. Sana blinked a few times, processing what was just asked.
"Yes." She finally answered.
"What?" Momo whispered.
"I said I will marry you." Sana giggled.
