The day I felt nothing
the rain smelled like mold,
or was it old rotting wood,
I couldn't tell the difference. The day the sky felt like release,
life was beginning to grow,
patches of green dispersed
on the now thawing earth. The day my mind felt blank,
The air felt thinner.
Almost like that feeling
when the sun is just opening her eyes.My brain feels
as though its frozen over.
Like if you looked in my mind
You'd find cobwebs and furniture covered in white sheets. The day the clouds rushed by
like they had somewhere to go,
was the day I remembered you most. The day that my blood felt like it was rushing through my veins.
Like when you look at the moon
as she wanes,
and remember the feelings
you missed through the pain.
