Chapter 1 (Introduction)

'I will miss you Kath' Erika says.

'I will miss you too Erika, I hope you won't forget me after going to New York' I replied.

'I promise I won't, do email me often, otherwise I'll kill you' Erika says.

'Shut up, I might murder you first, if you forget me' I said.

'Bye Kath' Erika says.

'Bye Erika' I said.

Introduction:

Hi, my name is Kathrine Evans and I am 21 years old. I live in London with my parents and my older brother Joseph.

My dad is a businessman and my mom is a housewife. Joseph helps dad in his business and I have recently finished my degree.

Erika is my best friend and she is from New York. She had come to London to study and since our studies has finished, she went back to her home.

My family is a proper religious and old traditional family. They believe in arrange marriage and superstitious things. Thay hate love marriage.

My brother did a arrange marriage last year with Helen, (Sister in law) who is a daughter of my dad's friend (business partner).

I am not allowed to go out of house, so I always read novels, watch Netflix and enjoy listening music.

'Kath, dinner is ready. Come downstairs' mom says.

'Ok mom, I am on my way' I said.

'Wow, food looks so yummy mom, thank you' I said.

'You are welcome my princess' mom says.

'Kath, I need to talk to you' my dad speaks.

'Yes dad, I am listening to you' I said.

'Good, since you have finished your degree, I have decided to, get you married. My friend relatives are in America and they have successful business. They are looking a bride for their son.' My dad says.

'No dad, please I don't want to get married' I said.

'I am not here listen No, I have already fixed the marriage, so be ready. They are coming to see you next month from America' my dad says.

What? Did dad seriously fixed my marriage without my concern? Why?

This gets me angry and I went to my room without eating the food. seriously, I don't want to get married. Please god help me.

Why can't dad understand me? And always control over the family. Sometimes, I feel pathetic seeing my family.

I was watching my graduation pictures, when I got an idea. I am sure, if I stay in London, then my parents will forcefully get me married, same like my brother.

Therefore, I emailed Erika my friend in New York, telling her about my problems and marriage.

Erika replied instantly, asking me to come to New York. She said she will help me out, until my family cools down and understand me.

This gives some relief to my heart. But the main problem is that, how can i run away?

I know my parents will find me, if I just run away like this. They know Erika and her place. So, I came up with a stupid excuse to run away.

I have heard about a heartless, arrogant multi- billionaire Adrian Lincoln (from America) from my dad. He hates him the most, since he rejected one of my dad's project, without reviewing.

No one has ever seen Adrian, and knows about him since he won't do interview in media. Everyone says he is a youngest multi-billionaire in America, with a living god look. Whatever...!

All I know is that, this person name will help me elope from my home. I know my dad will search me everywhere, but not in his enemy Place. 

Therefore, I thought of using that idiot name, to escape from my home. So that, my dad won't search for me. 

I did pack away all my stuffs, got some credit cards and a plane tickets to elope. Erika send me her New York address and I wrote down a letter before I leave.

Dear Dad/Mom/Brother,

I am just writing you all, to let you know that I am in love with Adrian Lincoln and he is my boyfriend. I know you all hate him the most, but please dad, I love him lots.

I cannot live without him and he is my life. last week, when you told me about the marriage, I couldn't believe that you fixed it, without concerning my thoughts and feelings.

I am sorry, that I am leaving you all and going to stay with Adrian Lincoln. I also know that you'll all hate me after reading this letter but dad/mom/Joseph, I will promise you that I I will never take any steps, that will let you down.

Lastly, I just want to tell you all that 'I LOVE YOU' and please don't try to search for me. Please forgive me.

Then, I left the letter on the table and run away, to start my new life in 'New York'.  A city of my hope.
