Engagement Ring

Today is the engagement day and everyone in the family is so happy. I can see lots of happiness on mom, dad and Laila face.

Don't talk about Martin, what can I say? He is super excited and is doing some crazy stuffs from yesterday night. I mean he keeps on wearing his engagement suits and walk around the house showing everyone.

We all laugh at his craziness but who cares he is so much stubborn that no one can stop him not even me. Whenever I try to speak something he just cuts me off. OMG who can ever think that serious Martin will be this much crazy?

Mom keeps on shouting at him for his craziness but he won't listen to anyone. Dad and Laila just closed their ears and eyes seeing Martin. We all laugh together teasing him but he is like a small fatty child who keeps on dancing and doing funny stuffs.

I love the way they are all so happy enjoying the moment. I feel happy seeing them happy but also deep in my heart it feels some emptiness.

The flashback of Adrian guilty eyes and his bleeding hands makes me sad but I cannot give it up so easily. I have to be strong and get married to Martin.

I was getting ready for the engagement when Martin came inside the room happily with the engagement ring.

'Kath I cannot believe you choose such a beautiful ring? It's being customized personal and the blue shining diamond is so precious' Martin said

'What? Blue shining diamond ring?' I said

'Don't try to make me fool Kath, I personally asked Sharan to ring you to choose your engagement ring so that you won't get disappointed with my choosing' he said

Oh no, I just left my mobile on Adrian face. That means he got my mobile and he choose my engagement ring, I don't know what to say as I don't want Martin to be sad because of that idiot Jerk.

So, I thought of pretending as if I choose it myself.

'Oh Yes Sharan, he rang me about the ring. Why Martin? Don't you like that ring?' I said

'No Kath, this ring is fabulous and I haven't seen any ring as beautiful as this. I can't image we can put blue diamond in the ring but one thing did surprise Me.' he said

'What thing Fatty?' I said

'Why did you engrave KATHAM on it?' he said

What? That stupid Jerk asked them to engrave Katham on it? I don't want to wear that ring with his name but I don't have any choice. I don't know what to say so made up some lies.

'Actually, Katham is my fairy-tale name. You know when we use to play fairy-tales in childhood, they used to call me Katham princess. So I want to be a princess in this special day and engrave that name. Sorry if you don't like it we can replace it' I said trying to get the ring to look at

'Wow Kathrine, you could have told me earlier. I too have asked them to engrave Katham on my ring too so that my princess will be with me forever' he said being happy and hand me the ring

I saw my engagement ring and yes it froze me. It's really beautiful and breathe taking like Martin describe.

The engagement ceremony begins and I can see lots of guest arriving. I was enjoying the moment with Laila and family when my eyes meet the person who I don't want to see.

Dad announced out engagement ceremony once all guest arrived and we exchange out rings. I dint bother to look anyone so quickly put the engagement ring and kept still.

Slowly everyone start walking towards us congratulating on our day. I was put fake smile on my face trying to hide the pain I am feeling right now seeing that Jerk in the party.

I excused myself and went towards the washroom.

'Hi Baby, do you like your engagement ring?' Adrian said

'Shut up and leave me alone. I don't like this ring' I said

'Don't lie me my angel, I know you loved that ring. After all, I did personally design it only for you.' He said

'Mr Adrian, can you please excuse me? And returned back my phone' I said

'Kath baby please, why you calling me Mr Adrian, it hurts my feeling hearing this stupid formal name of mine from your mouth. I am your idiot Mr Nice man.' He said

'No you are not, my nice man will never cheat on me neither lie to me' I said

'Kath just listen to me, I have never cheated on you and I cannot imagine myself cheating on you but yes, I did lie you about me being Adrian. I am really sorry for that, please baby give me one chance to explain' he said

'I have nothing to hear from cheating and lying person. Please Adrian, Just retuned back my mobile' I said

'If you want your mobile back then be in this address tomorrow at 1pm and yes baby, why did you put KATHAM as password and my name ADRIAN?' he said handing me his card.

'What? How did you know the password, no one can ever guess it' I said surprisingly

'You are my life baby and I know everything about you. I am sorry for hurting you in past but please baby, I will promise that I'll make everything back to normal. Don't forget to be in time tomorrow if you need your mobile' he said and left

I don't have any idea what just happened. How did he guess my password? What the hell with him following me everywhere? Stupid Jerk was saying he didn't cheat on me when I clearly see him and Jennifer making out video.

I hate it myself trying to believe on him then I heard a lady crying inside the washroom. I opened the washroom door and went inside.

'Excuse me Miss, Why are you crying? Can I help you?' I said

'Just go away Kath, I don't need your help' she said with her hatred word

'Sorry, I didn't get you and why do you hate me?' I said

'It doesn't matter, just leave me alone' she said crying

I didn't know what to do since my life was already messed up with that Adrian behaviour and now this girl is crying out loud having so much hatred towards me. I was totally blank.

'Please Miss, I am sorry if I have done anything wrong. Please tell me so that I can correct it' I said

'You cannot correct anything Kath, everything is done' she said

'What do you mean by everything is done?' I said

'You already got engage with Martin' she said crying

Now I realised she must be in love with Martin and he engaged me making her cry.

'Can you please explain me everything? And why you keep on calling me Kath?' I said

She then started to explain everything. I did find out that she was from the same school that we used to go and she has been loving Martin from her childhood. Her name is Aria.

Martin left the school because of me and she too left the school just to follow Martin in Spain. I can see her eyes filled with love towards Martin and her voice were cracking each time she says Martin name, it looks like her heart only beats for Martin.

I was shocked to know how someone could love anyone so much. I cannot believe that she has been loving him since childhood and still loves him even though he ignores her. She is willing to do anything just to see him happy and the most surprising thing is that she was the one who told Martin that I was in California.

She did support Martin in each steps of his life and returned his happiness just sacrificing her own love. I feel so sad, guilt and pity looking at her. I know I cannot ever love martin as much as I love that Jerk but her love for Martin is unconditional.

Hearing her story I just think to myself that what kind of trick is God playing on my life? I want to break this engagement and return Aria love her true love but in the meantime Martin happiness lies to me not her, and my happiness doesn't even exist.

I didn't know what to do but I just told her to be strong. I asked her mobile number so that we can chat someday peacefully and calmly.

I gave her the last hug and left the washroom.
