Abe's pov

I walked into my living room, holding a glass of water for Rufus who was up in his room. "So what happened?" Sting asked, leaning on the arm of the couch.

I opted to ignore the blond adolescent and instead made my way up the stairs to Rufus' room. I pushed the door open, the light from the hall bleeding into the darkness.

The curtains where drawn, cutting off any light from outside and no lights had been turned on.

I walked over to the bed where the blankets hugged around the image of a body. I sat on the edge, the bed dipping under the added weight.

Rufus shifted turning over to face me while I put the glass in his bedside table. "Hey. How you feeling?" I asked, running a hand through the long strands of hair that were sprawled over his shoulder.

"Head hurts" he mumbled, face burying deeper into his pillow. "Think you could sit up for a moment while I change your bandages?" I asked, the red patch on the bandages being whitee promanate against his light coloured hair and skin.

He hesititated for a moment before trying to push himself up with his uninjured arm only to whimper in pain and flop back down onto his bed as if he'd been dropped onto the bed by an unknown force.

I placed my arms under his and slowly helped him into a sitting position. I pulled out the first aid kit from under his bed - I kept them all over the house in case of emergency- and began unwrapping his head bandages.

I looked at the wound which hadn't been reopened thankfully but some of the small cuts around it were bleeding.

I treated the small cuts before wrapping his head back up again. "Get some rest. I want you to be in your best state when you leave this house" I explained, helping him lay back down.

"What about Jiemma?" he asked, eyes half closed. "I'll deal with him. Don't worry in the slightest" I promised, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead.

I got up and walked out of his room, closing the door behind me. I went down the stairs to see Sting and Orga arguing about something while Rogue sat with a blank expression which faced forward.

"Alright you two. Break it up. I'm going out. No one is to go up to Rufus' room. Rogue. I'm leaving you in charge" I explained, picking up one of the books that sat in the pile on the table and offering it to Rogue.

He took the book and turned it around to look at the back. "Why is Rogue in charge. He's like 13. He barely even speaks except to Frosch. I'm oldest. Why can't I be in charge?" Orga argued, standing up.

I did have to admit that out of the 3, Orga was oldest, being 17 years old.

"I'm leaving Rogue in charge because he is the most sensible. The two of you  don't have enough sense not to go upstairs and wake Rufus up" I explained.

Both males grumpled something under their breaths. I turned to Rogue who had opened up the book to the first page.

"You alright with that sweetie?" I asked. Rogue looked up to me. I gave him a small smile. His gaze softened before he gave a small nod.

I ruffled his messy black hair before walking over to the door, locking it behind me as I left.

Quick fact: At this point, Rogue doesn't have his fringe and is a very shy and quiet individual. Just so no one is too confused.
