It's my birthday so here's some art and a chapter.

Jellal's pov

I was currently in town. My excuse to Ultear was that I was getting food. My real reason for being here was to see how Abe was doing. I was walking towards her house, about to knock before hesitating. She had at least one other household member that wasn't her partners and she didn't want him to know about me being in the house before.

Just as I contemplated knocking, I was pulled away from the door and around the side of the house. I turned to look. Abe had grabbed onto the collar of my cloak and was dragging me away from the door and over to the forest.

"What are you doing back here?" she hisses, keeping her face turned away from me. "I came to see how you were doing?" I explain. She lets go of my cloak when we reach the tree line. "Has anyone told you that you are an idiot" she states, still not facing me and crossing her arms.

"How's your brother?" I ask. "He'll live. He's in his room recovering but coming up to my door was still an idiotic move. I have 3 other people in my house at the moment and if they saw you then the council would be here in no time after you. The only reason I'm not calling the council right now is because you saved Rufus and I need to repay you" she explains.

I place a hand on her shoulder and she flinches. I step to the side to see her face. When I can see it, I spot several scrapes and bruises covering it. "What happened?" I asked. "I got punished. Better I did than Rufus though" she explained, gaze being cast down to her feet.

"Punished? By who?" I asked, taking one of her hands in mine. She snapped it back. "Its the Sabertooth way. I don't need someone I barely know worrying about how my guild master treats me. I don't care about it" she objects, turning away from me.

"Let me help you" I offer. "I don't need help. Its just a few scratches and bruises. They'll heal in their own time. I'm not affected by them" she objects, heading back to her house. I spot the really bad limp.

"Its not just scratches and bruises. You're limping. It's obviously more than that" I object, grabbing her shoulder. She turns and slaps my hand away. "Why do you care so much? Why do you care if I'm injured? Are you forgetting that I'm under the authority of the council to arrest criminals?" she demands.

"You're different" I state. She scoffs. "I'm no different than anyone else. I think you've forgotten that until you told me that you were going to lead me to Rufus that I was going to kill you" she states. "I've not forgotten but might I remind you that you spared me and my friends because I saved your brother" I remind her.

"What does that have anything to do with this?" "Because it shows you have compassion. That you are willing to show mercy to people. And I know how you feel about your brother. I saw the way you cared for him in the time I was in your house. You really care about him. I'd say more than yourself" I explain.

She seems taken aback before looking down at her feet. "Why do you want to help me?" she asks. "I want to do the right thing and you seem like you need someone to help you for a change" I explain to her. "Alright. I could sneak you in again but it'll be hard. Sting and Rogue have noses like bloodhounds. Probably better. They'll smell you from a mile away" she explains.

"I just have to hide my scent right. I've dealt with strong nosed mages before" I point out. "I could create something that could do the trick" she offers. What looks like a perfume bottle appears in her hand. "Spray it on. It should work" she says, offering me the bottle. I take it and spray it on myself. Hopefully this will work.
