Chapter 1

I stared at the room in front of me with shock written across my face.

This wasn't my bed room...

When did I get here? Am I on drugs or something? This is a cave with people covered in blood in it. Someone is dying on a table right there. I looked back at the door I had come through, it was no longer a white door but an open cave door.

My suitcase dropped to the floor.

Why was I not home? I did not spend three months in another country only to get home and not actually be there. Was I dreaming? Maybe I wasn't actually home. That would make more sense.

"Who are you?" Someone yelled.

I looked around at the people covered in blood. They looked like they belonged in the medevil times. Nothing about them screamed normal or mordern. Perhaps they were larpers. Was that even real blood?

"Answer the question," the man yelled and took a step towards me.

I held up my hands in surrender, "chill man, I don't know where I am or how I got here but I hope I'm dreaming."

He looked at me questioning, kind of angry too. "Do you know who I am?"

I slowly shook my head, "have we met before? I think I'd remember meeting a group of larpers, but I guess not."

"A group of what?" He was even more confused. The other people now had their full attention on me, well except for the girl laying on the table basically bleeding to death.

"Is she dead?" I asked a little horrified, "or is this some sort of sick joke..."

"How dare you little -"

He was cut off by one of the men. He looked a little younger than the first guy, but the first guy stepped back when he started talking. Like the second, younger guy was in charge, "yes, she is dead. I don't suppose you know any spells to bring her back, do you?"

I scrunched my eyebrows, "what are you talking about? This isn't the sixteenth century. You are all crazy," I took a few steps back, "and I'm leaving..."

I was stopped from my escape when I hit something with my back. I slowly turned around and saw a man standing there. He was way taller than me, but then again I was pretty short.

I cleared my thoat, "sorry," then grabbed my suitcase and tried to roll it away but the door man stopped me.

"Where are you going? What is that you are carrying? What are you wearing?"

"So many questions," I sighed. "What are you wearing? What are you doing? I should be asking all the questions around here sicne I have no idea where I am or what's going on."

His eyebrows scrunched, "did the witch send you?"

"Did the what send me?" I stood there gaping at him, "there are no such things as witches. You are all on drugs, I think that's what it is." I paused, "no, actually, I bet this is a prank. Yep, alright sister, you can come out!" I yelled to the cave, "Nice joke! But its over now! I caught you in the act!"

Nothing happened and everyone went quiet. I looked around the room once more time and no one came out with a camera and my sister didn't appear.

What is even happening?

"Are you ill? Do you need to see a medicine man?" One of the men asked.

I closed my eyes and muttered to myself, "what is happening?" I took a few deep breaths then opened them again. First thing, find out where I am. "Okay," I said to the group of men that were still standing around the girl on the table. "What country am I in?"

All of them looked at each other with confusion until the first guy who spoke before spoke again, "what is a country?"

I felt my shoulders fall along with my hopeful facial expression. "Oh great, this is just fantastic. Either I've gone back in time or I really am on a different planet all together."

I walked up to the cave wall and slid down it till I was sitting on the ground. I curled up into a little ball and thought about what I shoudl do. A light bulb went off in my head as I thought about my phone. Right! I can call for help!

I pulled it out of my back pocket and turned on the screen. Everything looked normal, but... there was no service. I stood up quickly, "get me out somewhere where I could get service. Like outside in the open."

The looked at me like I was crazy but the tall man from the door nodded, "sure, I'll do it."

The rest of the men look relieved at this so we left. I followed him through many caves and hallways until we came to an opening. The men in the caves looked horrible. Barbaric and covered in blood, they scared me to death. Where on Earth was I? The air was chilly and I thought maybe I should have put on a sweater, but I quickly held up my phone to see if there was any sevice.

There wasn't.

I sighed unhappily and turned it off completely then slid it back into my back jean pocket. I looked at the ground of this little ledge for a minute until the man put his hand onto my shoulder, "its going to be fine, we will get you back home somehow."

I looked up at him with a frown, "the only problem is, I don't think my home is anywhere around here."
