I did not hear the end of it. It had been several days since Oliver came over and neither Kelly or Cassy will drop insulting him, or commenting on how he had been sleeping on my shoulder when they got back.

Their behavior caught me off guard. They weren't ever really the type to treat someone so rudely, it seemed that there was just something about Oliver. Occasionally, usually while cooking, they'd make some comment about his hair, that really only occurred while they were holding a bowl. Or they'd say something about his scooter, which they saw when they returned home. Or about how they didn't understand what I saw in him, he was too strange. I tried to express to them that I was only friends with him but they hassled me nonetheless.

When I wasn't listening to them ridicule him, I was catching up on work assignments, or practicing some new music, Oliver would message me every so often. It was usually a meme or something about a scooter trick.

My eyes were burning, I had been staring at the computer screen for nearly five hours, trying to get my code to work. It's such a bitch because there could be one misplaced period and the whole thing gets fucked. I rubbed my eyes and then searched more intensely. A vibration from beside me distracted me though.

I picked up my phone and saw it was from Oliver.

O-Heyyy what are you doing?

S-Feeling my brain dissolve

I sat my phone down and went back to work. He responded a few minutes later.

O-My favorite feeling

O-You wanna join me? There's a skate park a town over from here, I could show you some moves. Who knows, maybe I'll even get to show some kids up, send them crying home to their mothers

I let out a frustrated groan. I need to stay and work on this stupid code but, I was always up for a distraction.

S-Fuck yea, when are we going?

I sat my phone down and turned back to my code. I shook my head and closed the laptop. It would just have to wait.

I headed over to my closet and searched for something that would do for being out in the sun for awhile. I pulled out some ripped jeans and a black band shirt from some band I used to like when I was fifteen. I shrugged and checked my phone before changing.

Oliver still had not responded.

I sighed and sat it down on my bed. Guess that means more time to work on that fucking code.

I grabbed my clothes from my bed and threw the ones I had been wearing on top of a clothes pile that had started growing on the floor. I pulled my jeans on and then a knock rang out through the room.

Oh right, I forgot about Kelly and Cassy.

"Come in." I called to them as I grabbed my shirt.

The door creaked as it opened and I prepared to announce where I was going.

"Your friends ar- shit! Fuck!" I turned just in time to see Oliver red faced with a look of horror as he slammed the door shut.

"Sorry!" He yelled, the door muffling the sound of his voice.

I laughed and quickly pulled my shirt on then grabbed my phone, seeing that he didn't message me back.

I opened the door and he was staring at his shoes.

"Way to message me back."

"Hey when I invite people to do things it usually means now."
