"Run quickly, countdown is a minute away. We need to be there on time, Charlotte!"

"Im coming Ethan, it's your fault for bringing me here yet you know I'm not anywhere near athletic!" I yelled as I took Ethan's soft hand as he guided me through the inky darkness of the forest.

I could sense he rolled his eyes at my response even though I could not see his face.

He stopped abruptly and stretched his hand, signalling me to stop.

We were both few steps away from falling off a cliff.

"Perfect veiw, isn't it?" He said snaking his hand around my waist.

There we were, on a cliff, both our eyes feasting on the beutiful veiw presented before us. Billions of stars displayed on the pitch black sky, there was also a city before us, the lights made it look like there were tiny yellow and white stars on the ground. Such a breath taking sight.

"Best birthday gift ever!" I exclaimed as I turned my body and stared into Ethan's blue eyes that was lit dimly by the cresent moon. I studied his face, his perfect jawline, his blue eyes that glittered with happiness and his broad shoulders.

"How did end up with him?" I thought, "he's perfect and then there's me."

He smirked at my excitement and moved his body closer to mine.

For a moment, we just stood there, enjoying our presence as we listened to each other's steady breathing. I intertwined our fingers together and smiled to myself as I looked down on the dirt beneath our shoes.

"Happy birthday, Charlotte." Ethan finally said.

My attention diverted from the ground to his face that had a smile on it which had exposed a set of pearly- white teeth.

I now felt his breath landing softly on my face.

"Im so happy I snack out of the house for this. Totaly worth it." I thought.

"And happy new year babe." He added.

He inched his face closer to mine, I felt his breath become heavier, I placed my hand on his chest and felt his heart beating more erratically.

I suddenly felt his lips crash into mine, our lips moved in sync, his perfectly moulded into mine.

I felt his grip on my waist become tighter and our kiss become more intimate, more passionate and more demanding.

I felt his tongue on my lips, asking for permission to gain entry to my mouth. I happily permitted him to as I smiled into the kiss. Our tongues danced crazily inside my mouth as our breaths started to become heavier and heavier.

I started stroking his chest slowly when we suddenly parted our lips because we heard a loud pop.

The sound started to multiply rapidly.

Fireworks.

It was the goddamn fireworks.

I stared at them in awe, gasping at every colour displayed before us.

"Happy new year to you too Ethan." I said, wrapping both my hands around his waist as we both watched the fireworks disperse into the dark of the night.

"It's very unfortunate that my mom had to spend new year's in hospital struggling to get me out of her womb." I suddenly thought to myself.
