Charlotte's POV

"Impressed with your work Charl- I mean, Miss Walters. Your financial status in the company is just what we need." The woman with red hair, who I recently learnt that her Name was Mrs. Havena, said softly as she looked into the document the HR (Human resource.) Manager had been holding a few minutes ago.

Jake had a look at it as he unconsciously stroked his chin.

"Very impressive..." he whispered.

"Ethan? Are you even bothered with this deal? Wake up!" He said once he noticed Ethan day dreaming as he stared off into the city that laid behind the huge glass window beside him.

Ethan's POV.

I was beyond shocked when I recently discovered that I was making a deal with Charlotte's company.

Over all people, Charlotte.

Yes, I completely admit that it was my Idea to invest in this company, but only because of its outstanding performance.

I didn't recognise that it was Charlotte's name that was written on the website for her company. It was only her last name that was indicated and it seemed to erode over the past years in my mind although I clearly remember the rest of her names.

When she had walked in, I thought she looked stunning.

Her hair had become longer, her curves were extremely visible under the black pantsuit she had worn to the meeting. She seemed less skinnier than the last time I had seen her. Her features were simply gorgeus, especially her eyes. She wore minimal make up and she still looked stunning with or without it.

Shut up, Ethan. I came to do business, not to drool over somebody who broke my heart years ago.

Jake was also shocked to see Charlotte this way. I kind of flinched when I saw him hug Charlotte.

Again, shut up Ethan.

Charlotte had asked Jake if he had worked for me and Jake said he works with me.

I noticed the way he looked at Charlotte as she walked towards the end of the table.

I was suddenly ticked off by it and told Charlotte something I probably shouldn't have told her.

I told her that we aren't here for a re-union- I felt like a complete asshole for saying it. I also said that I had a flight to England.

I lied, I didn't have a flight anywhere. I just wanted to get the hell out of here. Jake suddenly gave a 'You're-such- a-dumfuck-for-lying' stare.

I ignored him by turning from his deathly stare and started drifting into my thoughts.

However, Charlotte didn't even bother. She clearly ignored me as she sat and Jake started telling her about something to do with waking up.

I then felt a short-lasted pain when Jake nudged my shoulder.

I wasn't paying attention at all to what they were all saying; all I saw were people's lips moving as they kept on opening folders and checking their gadgets. It's like my ears were sieving every thing they said.

All I thought about was Charlotte's reaction when she saw me. A flash of rage flew across her eyes and I could see she was trying her best to hide it.

Why was she angry anyways? Who would ever be angry to see me? Plus, if anybody is to be angry in this room it should be me.

She freaking broke my heart.

For the millionth time Ethan, you came here for business. Not for Charlotte.
