Chapter 20

Phoenix POV

My alarm goes off and I excitedly get up and get dressed, I chose a yellow tee shirt and my rebel alliance Star Wars green sweatshirt while getting on some dark blue jeans and my converse, I check my bags and head look at my room one last time before leaving, looking at my yellow walls and all of my paintings on the walls, I went downstairs and waited for my parents to get done getting ready.

After we were all ready we drove to the airport.

Next chapter of my life, here I come.

Antonio POV

I get up and get dressed in a red tee-shirt and black jeans, adding my Nike shoes, quickly before going downstairs, I start to unlock the door when I hear a cough behind me.

I look behind me and my mom is sitting on the couch, drinking a cup of coffee and watching me.

"Um, hey mom, what are you doing up so early?" I ask facing her.

"I know what you did to Phoenix." She says simply.

I sigh and sit down next to her. "That's actually what I'm doing right now. Going to her, she is leaving today for Georgia."

"You are not going. You have school and the Science Fair is 75% of your grade, you are not going to miss school." She says putting her cup of coffee on the coffee table.

I stand up. "Mom! I need to talk to her, you don't understand, I don't care about that stupid project! I need to tell her something."

She remains calm. "Text her, this fair is your future, if you miss it, you may not get into UCLA, your staying and going to school, it's already 8, school starts at 9." She gets up and walks to the kitchen.

I look after her baffled, "Mom!"

"What I say is final, do you understand hijo(son)?"

I sigh. "Yes, mother."

"Good." She says going upstairs.

I go back upstairs and lay on my bed, contemplating my choices, and what to do. Before long it is 8:30 and I go downstairs and start to drive to school.

Phoenix POV

I look outside of the windows in the airport, watching the planes land and take off, some going into the sunrise, some coming from the sunrise, I smile.

I have about an hour until I have to get on my flight, and my mom is starting to cry when Dad says they have to get to work.

I hug both of them, crying into their shoulders, we all hug, after we stop my dad hold my face in his hands.

"Oh honey, we're going to miss you, but we are so proud of you." I see tears forming in his blue eyes, and I wipe them once they fall. 

"Thank you dad, I am going to miss you both so so much," I say, tears forming in my own eyes.

My mom squeezes me again and looks at me. "Your brother would be so proud of you." Once she says that I start to bawl, missing my brother more and more, and this whole day will have me thinking of him, everything in Georgia will remind me of him.

Once they walk away, I sit back down and sigh, feeling like wanting to cry again. I swallow and open Pride and Prejudice, absorbed in the love story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
