Derek was pissed, sad, but most of all, filled with so much self-loathing that it felt crushing. He hadn't ever thought he would be back in Beacon Hills after what he had caused to happen to his pack. Why would Laura come back to this place? It made no sense to him. And somehow she had gotten herself killed.

When he arrived at the airport he was met by one of the deputies and was driven to get a rental before being escorted to a local bed and breakfast. Everything looked different but also the same.

It had been six years since he had last seen these streets. He decided to walk towards his old pack house and looked at the stores he remembered but also ones that had replaced the old. As he walked down a street off the main one he recalled that the Highs cool he went to was down this way.

It looked exactly the same as it had when he had gone there. There were a few more trees or a bush missing but otherwise it was like looking directly in the face of all his past mistakes.

The sound of a whistle and the Coach yelling something came from the LaCrosse field to his right. Derek made his way towards the field but kept himself in the shadows when he could get a good view.

His teeth clenched when he saw one of the players slightly beta shift and his eyes glowed a bit. The omega's friend at the bench was shouting his name and looked worried.

Derek stared at the smaller built boy who seemed ready to weep tears of joy that everyone had been oblivious to the omega, Scott as the kid had said, that made several blunders.

He waited for them to begin making their way towards the parking lot and stood waiting by the only car left. It was a beat up jeep but at least it ran. When they got closer he could hear the kid lecturing Scott a mile a minute. Scott didn't look like he cared and was walking on cloud nine.

Both hadn't noticed him yet. Derek narrowed his eyes on Scott, the omega. He had to have been recently turned if he didn't have even the most basic control of his heightened senses.

"What do you think you were doing out there," he asked as the kid was the first to notice him. His attention was centered completely on Scott though.

"Who the hell are you," Scott snarled.

"Someone with a lot more sense than you. You know that those of the supernatural can't play sports due to it being an unfair advantage. You're obviously newly turned. Don't you know any common sense," Derek asked as he took a step forward with a frown.

"Hi! My name's Stiles and this is Scott," Stiles spoke up suddenly before Scott could respond.

"Stiles! You don't just tell a clearly hostile possible werewolf our names!"

Stiles waved his hand as he kept his eyes focused on Derek. Derek felt something tugging at him but he ignored it with a grimace as he looked away from Stiles to stare Scott down.

"You'll need a pack. Especially if this will be your first full moon."

"I'm not a werewolf! And I didn't ask for your advice. Let's go Stiles," Scott yelled as he stormed past Derek and quickly slid into the jeep.

Stiles grimaced a bit and gave Derek an apologetic look.

"Sorry. Maybe we can talk again sometime?"

He didn't wait for a reply and quickly ran to the driver's side before starting the car up and leaving the parking lot.

Derek walked across the forest floor and couldnt help but dwell on his part in the destruction of his own pack. Or how Laura had just left Peter injured in a hospital. She had become the Alpha of the Hale pack once their mom had died but she hadn't exactly been a good Alpha.

They'd escaped from Beacon Hills without even burying their family. It didn't help that Laura was hardly ever there for Derek and he usually found himself unable to properly shift to run. Most full moons she would shift with him within the confines of the small flat they had rented.

No Alpha would ever think about confining their pack inside on a full moon.

So, no. Laura was NOT a good Alpha but she WAS his sister. And someone had murdered her. After having lost the rest of his family to his idiotic choices, losing Laura, his Alpha, left him feeling lost.

What was he supposed to do now?

A smell drifted on the wind, drawing his attention from his thoughts. He drew in a deep breath to sift through the scents.

Laura.

Derek took off running in the direction of the smell and finally stumbled into the clearing with the large half burnt house standing proudly in the center. It looked dilapidated but he ignored it in favor of following the scent to a recently dug grave.

His eyes stared down at it as his breaths begun to stutter. He knew what he would find beneath the soil. Hunters had gotten to her somehow and buried her as nothing more than a wolf.

Derek stumbled back as he felt the urge to vomit begin to crawl up his throat. He kept it down with his strong will and tried to take deep steady breaths.

The Hunters were here. Was Kate back? That bitch who had killed his family, his pack? He would tear her apart if he caught scent of her. They had been clever though and used a scent blocker on themselves so he couldn't smell anything besides Laura within the clearing.

However, when he reached the front of the Hale House he picked up two others scents. Female by the floral in it. He would need to try and find who these two women were. If they had anything to do with Laura... he would enact pack justice on them. Omega or not.
