Callie got out of the bed and summoned a large shirt and shorts to slip on before walking towards the door. The person on the other side banged again while she was still in the process of walking towards it. She huffed a little before opening it a Crack to see who it was.
The man was handsome and looked slightly similar to Peter. If she had to guess she'd say this was Derek Hale. He was currently looking at her with a frown and slight confusion.
"You're not a Hunter," he said in confusion.
"Uh.. No? Did you really just come to my room expecting a Hunter? Just walk right up and knock on the door? Didn't cross your mind they could've shot you full of wolfsbane?"
Callie was flabbergasted with the amount of thought Derek had put into this little excursion. Which was none. At least he had the decency to look chagrined.
"I was mostly just trying to make sure I followed your scent. It seemed to show up in random spits and veer off unexpectedly," he admitted. "Why do you smell like Pack?"
Callie sighed before stepping back and gesturing him inside. Derek kept his eyes on her as he stepped inside of the room. He didn't seem to notice the other presence within just yet. She shut the door just as Peter stepped into the room.
Derek's head snapped in his direction with widened eyes as he took in his Uncle's appearance.
"You're okay," he whispered in shock.
"No thanks to Laura and you," was his quick response laced with sarcasm. Peter flopped onto the couch and arched an eyebrow at his nephew.
He watched as guilt washed over Derek at his comment. Peter flicked his eyes to Callie and saw the slight disapproval on her face. She moved around the shocked Derek and sat cuddled up to Peter.
"Don't be mean to your nephew. He was only following his Alpha's command," she rebuked him. "Sit down, Derek. We're not going to hurt you."
He seemed to have noticed the slightly red glow of Peter's eyes and felt even more wary.
"We're you the one who killed Laura," he asked even as his body relaxed, ready for an attack.
"Derek, sit down. There's a lot Peter has to tell you and as I've said before, we're not going to hurt you."
He turned his attention back to the woman and finally realized why she smelt of Pack. She was mated to Peter. He noticed the sincerity in her words, could taste the truth upon her lips, and decided to sit on the chair facing them.
"How long have you been better? Why didn't you ever search for me or Laura? When did you become an Alpha," Derek quickly shot off questions.
Peter held up a hand to settle his nephew as he tried to figure out how to break the news to Derek.
"First of all, Calypso, my mate, found me yesterday and healed me. It's been about half a day that I could even think for myself let alone move of my own free will. I didn't search for you because a Hunter had taken over as my personal Nurse and had been injecting me full of Wolfsbane on top of the Mountain Ash and Wolfsbane lodged into the scarring caused by the fire," he said as he pulled Callie closer to himself.
Derek didn't say anything as he waited for Peter to continue. He could tell something was weighing him down by the way his eyes shifted away, seeking touch from another of the Pack, and the gritting of his teeth. His blue eyes shifted up to look him dead in Derek's own before they began turning red.
"As for how I became an Alpha, the Nurse had begun something different. I've only got snippets of what she had done but what I can gather is she had allowed the Wolfsbane to mostly escape my system before letting me loose and keeping me in line with some type of amulet. I have no memories of how she got me to but .... I attacked Laura. I would never have done that in my right mind. You have go understand that I was completely Feral, doped up on Wolfsbane and Mountain Ash, and not to mention touch starved. My last cognizant memory is of the fire."
Callie wrapped an arm over Peter's ab lined stomach as she kept her eyes on Derek. His eyes had shifted to blue when he heard about the Hunter posing as a Nurse and had stayed that way through Peter's entire explanation.
"I'm sorry that you lost another Alpha and felt the bonds snap a second time," Peter finally added with sincerity.
Derek closed his eyes as a single tear escaped the right one and he took a deep breath to begin and organize his thoughts. He knew how out of it Ferals become when they don't have Pack Bonds or continued touch. That's not even taking into account the amount of mountain ash and Wolfsbane pumped into his system the past 6 years.
Derek opened his eyes and observed the way Calypso rubbed small circles into Peter's side and how relaxed his Uncle looked. He just realized that he had never seen his Uncle completely relaxed before. It might have something to do with his role in the pack as the Enforcer but Derek was glad to see him okay after what he had been through since the fire that destroyed their pack.
"Thanks for telling me the truth," he mumbled as he slumped unto the chair.
After that, they all got a bit more comfortable and relaxed into a conversation. It mostly centered around how Derek and Laura had been living since the fire. They also learned more about Callie as she spoke of her past and her part in the Wizarding World. Their conversation was interrupted by a phone call from Sheriff Stilinski informing her about the problem Derek had seemed to get himself caught up in.
"That little shit," Derek hissed angrily.
"Think we found the kid," Peter mumbled at the same time.
Derek's eyes widened when he realized what his Uncle had said.
He groaned before saying, "Don't tell me that it was you who turned that utterly bigoted trash. He's undeserving of the bite!"
"I already told you that I was completely feral," Peter growled out as his anger took over. His Alpha voice subdued Derek into tilting his head slightly sideways in apology.
After he calmed down, Peter looked over to see how Callie was taking it. Calypso was busy typing furiously on her cellphone. She wanted to let Anita to know what she would be stepping into. Peter and Derek couldn't do it for the sheer reason that Derek had already been blamed for his turning and he wasn't even an Alpha. No way was Callie bringing her Alpha Werewolf Mate near the recently turned fool.
"Alright," Callie suddenly spoke as she turned her phone's screen off. "Derek are you going to be joining our pack? If so, I don't know if we will be staying here forever. I work all over the States when it's demanded of me. I doubt Peter would want to be away from me for those long periods of time. If you would like to stay here in favor of leaving with us, I can either have the Goblins fix up the old Hale House or we can build our own place."
"I want to be a part of your pack. With the last of my family."
"I think we still have the deeds for the 5 Acres that the Hale House is built on. I'd rather we tear it down and build a monument in their memory before building our own house a bit further out," Peter commented as his hand squeezed Calypso's hip.
"Okay. That can be done. Oh! Derek, make sure you're available for the full moon for Pack initiation. Though, it'll be just a small two, now three, party Lupinar. However, when it comes to my luck, that will probably change. Full Moon is in 11 days. Don't miss it," she shot him a warning glare. He gave her an unimpressed look before she gave a little chuckle and walked to the bathroom to get ready for the day and allow the boys to talk alone.
