Chapter 1

I looked at the clock. 3:45. I couldn't wait to go home in 15 more minutes.
"Naomi, are you listening?" The teacher asked.
"Sorry Miss..."
"Right Class, pack away then I'll explain the homework."
Everyone started groaning.

Finally, the bell went and I ran to the lay-by where my Mum is always parked.
"Hey, Mum!" I said as I got in the car.
"Hey, babe..."
"What's wrong,"
Mum didn't reply.
"Mum. I asked what was wrong"
"Oh nothing, just thinking..."
The rest of the car ride was quite awkward actually, none of our car rides were ever like this.

We walked in and I was quite surprised to see Auntie Natalie sat on one of our sofas. I sat down diagonally-opposite her and next to mum.
"Please don't flip out over what I'm about to tell you.."
"Wait, Aunt Natalie do you know about this?"  I asked curiously, I was worried about what was coming. I could see my mum mouthing something at her, out of the corner of my eye, but I couldn't decipher it.
"Well you see, that's the thing, I'm not your Aunt."
"Well I know that, but you like an aunt and"
Natalie cut me off.
"I'm your sister."
I was speechless but had so many questions at the same time.
"Biologically?"
She nodded.
"I completely get it if you don't think of me the way you used to or..." It was my turn to cut her off.
"Are we half-siblings or full?"
"I'll leave for you two to talk," Mum said as she left.
"Full" I went over sat next to her and lent against her.
"I'm not angry or upset with you at all, you know that, right?"
"You're Not?"
"You would have only been 11 at the time, I don't you would have had much influence, sis" I added that on the end to try and make her laugh.
"And in answer to what you tried to say earlier, you're my sister now, not my aunt'
We sat and just talked until we were too tired to do anything at all.
