Chapter 10: Awakening and Horrifications

Evelyn felt Rick drag her back on the dirigible, clutching her close to his chest. She could feel his panting breath on her hair while she looked around confused. 

She, she fell into another vision, she thought to herself. She was herself but another so was Rick. Along with her sister Jean, and even Imhotep. Though he couldn't have changed much since she was the one who had after cursed him in that lifetime. Her past reincarnation must have had not only vengeance but grief and heartbreak over not being able to marry the past reincarnation of Rick, who died shortly after knowing that once she took over the ancient temple of Asa they would never be able to see one another again. After that, she had simply put on a mask to show everyone she was fine when in reality, her soul was being shattered from her very core. Then the Pharoah had actually changed the law for his own flesh and blood, shortly after all this, for the young woman who would also be her successor. She couldn't help but feel betrayed and that fate should be so merciful to one couple and not to another. So with hatred running deep in her veins, she cursed both beings for all eternity, figuring she would never see her true love again either. 

But how wrong she was. In this lifetime they were reunited, but so was Jean and Imhotep. But with the curse, both would still be bound to never have a peaceful and happy ending. She felt an overwashing amount of guilt set in, and she couldn't help but cry into Rick's arms, how was she going to fix this? She wasn't a High priestess anymore, and she certainly didn't have any gifts that she knew of. Once more she would have to figure out with Rick how to stop the Army of Anubis that would be arising with the Scorpion King. Evelyn stopped crying and looked at Rick with determination. She took a breath and exhaled slowly, relishing the hand that was caressing her face and the kind and worried eyes of Rick. 

She may have been a vile snake in her past life, but in this one, she was going to be Evelyn O'Connell explorer extraordinaire and fix all of the wrongdoings she had did to her sister's past reincarnation and lover. Now all she needed was a book. 

"Rick I have to fix all of this, we need to make a stop. Tell Iggy." And with that Evelyn stormed to below deck hollering for Jonathan and the Medji.
