Chapter 2: I Didn't Want The Past to Come Into Effect

Meela looked at the mummy with fascination before turning to look at the books that the diggers had found during their excavation. She sighed when she saw the context of the books, admiring the hieroglyphics and ancient history, reminding her of the fun times when Asernath and her used to wonder the palace corridors, playing with the kittens and picking lotus flowers to make perfume and offers to their temple's God. Meela felt a pang of sadness before anger flamed through her veins. Then she remembered when their High Priestess, the asp she was, murdered her best friend and the Pharaoh, not to mention cursing her best friend's love, Imhotep. Meela's eyes flashed in vengeance before a smirk drew across her face, she and the rest of her friends would have their revenge soon enough she thought, before a group of three men came sauntering up to the head archaeologist of the excavation, Mr. Hafez, Curator of the London Museum. The three men were rather scabby characters, certainly reminding Meela of her ex High Priestess. When Meela overheard the men had not acquired the bracelet she walked up to the curator and looked at him while touching his arm, 

"My dear Hafez I told you I  should have handled it" she fretted. 

The curator turned to her with kind eyes before gesturing with his hands in attempt to explain, 

"I did not want the past to come into.... effect or cloud thee, issue." he finalized. Understanding flashed across her eyes and she looked at the men before asking in a sickeningly sweet tone, 

"Might I ask where the bracelet is heading gentlemen?" 

One of the men scoffed and sarcastically said with a sneer, 

"Its heading on its way to Merry ol' London, as far as I know to the O'Connell and Carnahan residence." 

"Then London is where we must go." The curator stated before yelling at the workers to pack up the "precious" cargo....
