Night was fast to arrive. Kaito, Rie, and the police force all couldn't wait until the start of the heist. The museum was closed for investigation ever since the case started and it hasn't seen visitors for a while. But tonight, it seemed like all of Tokyo was present. Fans of Kaitou Kid swarmed the museum entrance garden while the police kept them at bay. It was loud and noisy, and Kaito, Rie, and Aoko could barely hear each other even though they stood close.

"Kid really brings out the worst in people." Rie spoke, eyeing the large crowd. She knew the true culprit had to be here with them. She couldn't begin to imagine where to start.

"Dad went crazy this morning as soon as he got the letter. Kid's got everyone wrapped around his finger." Aoko added with a nod, looking around as well. She could pick out his father from the crowd though, considering he was out of it and in front of the museum doors.

"It's not Kid-sama's fault that he's attractive! He's the coolest phantom thief around." Kaito retorted, jumping up and down to see through the wave of people. There was one person he was looking for within the crowd: Jii.

"I think the fact that he's a wanted criminal is why everyone's here. Particularly the police." Rie pointed out. She shifted awkwardly, her assassin outfit creasing under her normal clothes. Kaitou advised her to do what he did when it came to disguises. He was a master of it, after all.

"Hey, Rie-chan... Do you think... Kid actually..." Aoko's voice tightened in her throat as her face turned grim. Rie and Kaito turned to look at her worriedly. She cleared her throat and continued, looking directly at her friends. "Do you think Kid actually killed Akako..?" Rie and Kaito exchanged glances before looking back at her, confident smiles on their faces.

"I think Kid doesn't have time to eliminate people."

"Kid-sama would never do such a thing. He would never steal a life."

"I don't think Kid would do it either..." Aoko nodded before feeling a comforting hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Rie, giving her a determined look.

"We'll see tonight." Rie told her, patting her shoulder lightly. Aoko replied a quiet "Yes.." before training her eyes back to the crowd. Rie and Kaito looked at their watches secretly. It was time. Quickly, Kaito grabbed Aoko's hand and pulled.

"Let's go upfront! Let's go, let's go!" He shouted, dragging Aoko behind him. Rie was left behind.

"Ah-! B- Bakaito! W- wait!" Aoko tried to stop him but the raised arms of other people prevented her from getting a good look at Kaito. By the time Aoko realized that she was at the front-most barriers, Kaito was out of sight. He ran to the side and into the nearby bushes. He ran as fast as he could to his position. He only hoped that Naito-chan was ready. The lights went out. He couldn't help but grin. Naito-chan got there before he did, how embarrassing.

Immediately, screams erupted from the crowd. Everyone was looking for a glimpse of white within the dark facade of the museum.

"Aahhh, so tedious..." Sanctuary Night groaned from the control room. She looked down at the passed out officers with a frown. They were sleeping away after she pricked them with tranquilizers. "Why where there so few? They didn't have to put so much officers in the balcony room.." Pulling her hood over her eyes, she looked over at the cameras, one of them she disabled herself. It won't be long until they send back up to where she was at. Pocketing a flash drive, Sanc was careful to gather as much information as she could. But she had one last thing to do before she had to book it for the vents. The sole spotlight on the balcony turned on, revealing Kaitou Kid in all his glory standing on the railing.

"Ladies and gentlemen~!" Kaitou's voice boomed, followed by screams laced with both excitement and anger. Inspector Nakamori barked orders left and right, pointing up at Kaitou's figure. "I bring you marvelous illusions to make your night shine!"
