Again (Levi x Reader Modern)

a New traning day.

(Y/n)'s pov

You woke up slowly in your new room, still tired of the cleaning that you did yesterday evening. The room was spacious and you didn't complain about the rustic look it gave. It reminded you of your childhood. You swiftly got out of bed as you remembered your words to Levi the previous evening.

Walking to the infirmary you sighed as you saw Levi seated in the chair outside the infirmary. "Morning Captian," you Said quickly remembering his the captain of the elite squad. "Tch" is the only sound you heard. You opened up the doors and switched on the lights. One thing you loved now. Electricity. It gave light and warm water and if there was a strong enough signal the radio. You smiled at yourself as you turned on some machines.

"I need you to take off your shirt please," I asked Levi turning to him as he stood close to me "First we need to talk.."

" The time for talk is over. I'm over it. Can I just do my job please I have a long day ahead of me? Now I won't ask again. Take off your damned shirt" I said stepping back eyeing him with my daggers. He did as he was told and I continued to do my work. "I need 10 minutes for the x-ray photo to develop. " I said turning to ready his paperwork. I heard him sigh as he looked around " This place is filthy.." He commented in disgust.

"I didn't have time to clean my room and office and this whole big place in just one day. " I snapped annoyed. "I hope you know that you will have to stay still for at least 3 more weeks is you have a cracked rib but I think it's broken then it's a bed for at least 3 weeks and easy-going for 2." He huffed at me as he rolled his eyes."Im, not a child" he sounded annoyed now.

"I didn't say you were. I'm just doing my job" with that I went to the machine to retrieve the x-ray. And as clear as day three clean broken ribs shows on the left side of his ribcage. " three broken ribs. " I said and looked at him. " luckily they're a clean break it will heal quickly but you have to keep still and continue taking pain meds to help prevent inflammation. At least for another 10 days. Then I want you back here for a check-up. "

He sighed as he got up "Better go to the mess hall if you want breakfast brat. " he said as he made his way out the door. You washed your hands as you left for the mess hall. You were hungry as you didn't eat last night. Walking down the corridors to the mess hall a few cadets were standing talking here and there and once I opened the door there was CHAOS.

The bread was flying across the room along with mashed potatoes and whole carrots. On each side of the mess hall, the tables laid on their sides and about 20 cadets on each side. Everyone was talking and yelling at the same time. You couldn't believe what your eyes were seeing. You let a small smile spread across your face before turning your attention to Levi.

"Clean up this mess right now!" Levi demanded to raise his voice over the crowd. " And every last cadet in here will be on cleaning duty for three weeks." He said as all of them started to clean immediately. You fought hard to keep the giggles inside as you made your way to collect some food.

"Cadet (Y/n)" he said blankly and I turned my attention to him again as I took a piece of bread and potatoes. " Come see me in my office when the day is over"  I nodded and saluted as I continued to eat my food.

By midday, all the cadets were at the training grounds. I watched them in awe as I knew I couldn't do anything. " Come now Cadet (Y/n) you have to learn how to fight and use the ODM gear. " the commander told me and I nodded. "Yes sir," I said as I fell in line for trying out the gear. Most people were younger than me and some I could see were old scouts.

The closer I got to my turn the more nervous I got. I was so caught up in the thought that a person with piercing green eyes and short brown hair pulled me closer. " Come now. I'm Eren. It's your turn.." He said smiling sheepishly at me. He was a scout I recognized him too. " Just attach the gear to the loops found on your uniform and try to balance. " nodding I stepped forward and did as I was told. I didn't know up until now how off-balance I really was.

I pulled a bit on the gear lifting my feet off the ground after my third try. Both first and second tries ended up in a disaster. And finally, I was getting the hang of it. A smile formed on my lips before I felt my stomach flip and me upside down again. " Good. Now you got the feel of it should get easier." Eren said unhooking me after he helps me get up. I thanked him and moved on to where the cadets were busy running laps and doing exercises.

Soon after about four to five hours, they told us we were finished. Sighing in relief I made my way to the infirmary. Already a few needing stitches were sitting in line. "The first one in line follow me please," I said as I smiled and prepared to do the rest of my day's work.

The paperwork was crazy about this. I had to open files and fill in everything. What was wrong, the treatment and the prescription I gave along with their personal details. I sighed as I scooped up my paperwork and made my way to Levi's office. I knocked on the door and waited for him to grant me permission to enter.

Closing the door behind me I turned to him "You wanted to see me Captian?" I asked looking at him as he was seated in his chair. I was glad he was resting. " Yes, indeed I do." He stood up slowly and made his way over to me. "Look I just wanted to say I'm sorry" he held up his index finger indicating for me to keep quiet. " I should have told you the truth." He then looked at me and I smiled at the raven-haired man. " Nothing we can do about it now," I said knowing I might be a bit too hard. " All this is so new to me anyways that I need time on my own to work through it all." The truth was I wasn't very happy with him. But I bearly knew him. "Good night Captian." He nodded at me and I left to go and finish my hours of paperwork waiting for me.
