There he was, Adrien Agreste. He was standing there looking at her. She didn't feel herself stand up, but all of a sudden she was standing in front of him. He had grown a lot since they had last seen each other, but then again she did stand at a good five foot nothing while he was nearly six feet tall.
Adrien watched her get up and everyone in the class waited with bated breath as she stood looking up at him. No, not looking. Glaring. She tore her eyes away and walked out the door furiously.
He looked down at Madame Bustier and she nodded knowing what he wanted to do. At that he ran out the door.
Marinette heard foot falls behind her but didn't turn around because she knew who it was. She quickly went down the stairs and ran out to the front of the school. She didn't stop until she reached a bench at the park across the street. She pulled her knees up and put her feet on the bench, stuffed her head between her legs and started to cry.
Every feeling resurfacing, all the great memories flashing through her mind. One memory playing over and over again. The umbrella.
Adrien saw her cross the street and did the same, but he had to pause for a car. Once she got into the park he didn't see where she went. He walked into the park, the same park where the Ladybug and Chat Noir statue stood. He stood for a second and looked at it, sighing sadly. Adrien then saw her sitting on a bench, she was crying, his sweet princess was crying.
Marinette felt someone sit down next to her. Adrien. She wiped her eyes, and looked up at him with blood shot eyes. "Why? Where?"
" Well, I got some pretty shocking news that, I uh- wasn't sure how to deal with." He looked at Marinette, he wanted to tell her everything. He was so drawn to her, she was his princess. Adrien knew he could trust her, but he couldn't tell her yet, maybe Chat Noir were still around, he could.
They sat in silence, Marinette's head was now resting on Adrien. They stayed like that for a bit until she asked again. "Where?" She said timidly, she still layed on his arm, but she adjusted her head to look up at him through damp lashes. "I was still in Paris, but I had my father homeschool me. He agreed, but I decided I was finally ready to come back." He looked down at her and smiled sweetly. "I really missed you Mari, I want to spend more time with you now that I'm back. You know, it really hurt to stay away. I had to though, I would have been a really different person if I came back earlier. I was honestly going through it." Marinette saw the sincerity in his eyes.
"I am truly sorry Marinette, I know I hurt you, leaving like I did. I should've at least told you guys." He had tears in his eyes now. "It was so selfish of me Mari, if I could go back and change it..." The tears were falling now, he couldn't stop them even if he wanted to.
Again silence fell upon them, the only sound was the sound of the bell for the next class. They didn't move. The silence was so tranquil and serene that Marinette and Adrien ended up falling asleep on each other.
Marinette woke up to giggling, she recognized it though. "Girl, you guys missed an entire day of classes! And as for you Agreste, you have major explaining to do." She looked up to see Adrien's eyes open, and his face a bit scrunched up as he nervously scratched the back of his neck. This made her giggle a little bit.
After finally getting up from what seemed like a short nap but ended up being very long, the group of friends, now united, walked to Marinette's house to talk.
