There was a point in Iris' life that Levi always feared and hoped to never face. He made sure that it would never happen, but it seems that it was inevitable, and to make matters worse, it didn't happen once. Tonight, was the third time that his daughter was going to introduce her boyfriend to him and Maria, and based from her history on boyfriends, he knew that he had to stop himself from pulling the "I'm a fucking cop card".

The sound of his phone ringing woke Levi from his reverie of multiple images of Iris' possible boyfriend. He placed the plate of pasta on the table and grabbed his phone from the counter. He made sure to avoid Titus, Iris' huge rottweiler pet, who slept soundly by his bed.

"Hello?" Levi answered, a bit lousily.

"You don't sound too good, is everything okay?" Maria's voice was heard from the other line.

"Yeah... yeah... just." Levi sighed, he walked to the living room and sat down. He ran his hand down his face in frustration. "I can't believe we're going through this again... how many punks does she have to bring to dinners like this until she stops?"

Maria chuckled at the other line.

"Levi, it's only natural... she's exploring... looking for the right one."

"I don't remember it being this stressful."

"Well, we didn't really have to go through all that process with my family... but to be honest, I brought home some boyfriends of my own when I was in my teens to meet my parents, and to be honest... my father did a better job with handling it."

"You're not really helping... I just don't want another punk coming into my home... remember the first one?" Levi muttered.

Levi would never forget the first boy that Iris brought to introduce to her parents. She was about sixteen at that time, and the boy was about her age as well. His name was Reiner Braun, a member of the school football varsity team, and he was huge.
Levi never liked Reiner Braun, though the young man was a gentleman, he could sense that something was off with him – even Titus felt it. Four months later, after the introduction, Iris saw Braun and his friend, Hoover, beating up Marco Bott for catching them doing illegal transactions with a couple of high schoolers from another school. And Iris being Iris, punched Braun for doing such a thing, and broke up with him by kicking him at the balls. And of course, the two teens were sent to the Principal's office, and to Levi's joy, he handled the case.

"I have to admit, Iris needs to improve her judgement on people, but it's part of growing up – people make mistakes and they learn from them –"

"Eleventh grade, Maria..." Levi reminded her. "Iris brought home that psychopath..."

The sound of Iris' name woke Titus from his sleep, he lifted his head to look for his owner, but instead he found Levi sitting on the couch, the aura of stress surrounding him.
Titus got up from his spot and patted his way to his owner's father, he settled his head on Levi's knee, knowing that the man found comfort in petting his head. And just as the dog expected, Levi placed his free hand on Titus' head and started to massage the dog's head. A massage that he needed himself.

"Firo wasn't a psychopath –"

"He was a psychopath, Maria..." Levi said. "You can even ask Titus."

"I don't think that's necessary, Le –"

Levi placed the phone in speaker and showed a photo of Firo to the cuddling rottweiler, Titus immediately went to defense stance and started barking at the image of the young man. Levi smirked at the dog's reaction, it took him months to train Titus to have him attack any image of Firo, may it be front, back, or side. And he did it for a good reason.
