Yeji's Perspective
The day went by normally after the whole fiasco in the morning. Classes went by, albeit slowly, and many greetings were exchanged. Thankful that her classes were having a light work day for the first day of school, Yeji heads over to the gym for volleyball practice.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning Lia! Practice will go into several hours after school, so you don't need to wait up on me!" Yeji informs Lia.
"Alright! Have fun and don't go too hard on them, it's the first day of school, Yeji. Bye!" Lia yells from across the hall as she heads to her design class.
Upon walking into the gym, she spots a couple of her teammates going into the locker room. She also sees her coach sitting on one of the bleachers, browsing on her phone.
"Hey Coach Kang!" Yeji brightly greets her coach.
The mid-length brown haired girl looked up from her phone and said "Ah, hello to you too, Yeji. I hope you're ready to exercise with your team today. I'm thinking of doing a little conditioning here and there. What do you think?"
"Hmm, I know we already had several practices during the summer, but today is the first day of school. Why don't we go a little easier on them tonight?" Yeji speaks her mind.
"Ever the nicest, captain. Alright, just for today and for the sake of our team's tiredness level, we will take it a TAD bit easier. Now, run along, I expect you to finish changing and setting up the nets in the next 15 minutes!" The coach says as she looks at the time on her phone.
Yeji smiles gratefully as she jogs to the locker room, catching up with her teammates.
"Good news, everyone! I was able to convince coach to take it a bit easier today," Yeji excitedly tells her team.
"Wooop!"
"Yay!"
"Nice."
"As expected of our wonderful captain!"
Came the replies of her teammates. Giving everyone her eye smile, the team finishes changing into their black spandex, white practice shirts, white knee pads, white crew length socks, and white volleyball shoes. Her coach had a thing for wearing "clean" gear, hence the reason they had to wear almost white everything besides the spandex (a/n: true story). Everyone had the same style of volleyball shoes to make the team look in uniform, but each player has their initials sewn into the tongue of their shoes for unique attributes.
The 12- member team file out of the locker room and quickly set up three nets that stretched across the gym.
"5 minutes!" The coach yells as she shows the timer on her phone.
Everyone quickly scrambles for the poles, antennas, nets, and paddings. As the captain, Yeji had to quickly set up the ball cart and fill it up with 14 volleyballs. The alarm sounded just as Heejin attaches the last antenna on the net.
"Just in time! Ok everyone, gather around, we have 2 new players that I want to practice with us. Whether they'll be your permanent teammate for this season or not, depends on the skills they show me. Please welcome, Shin Yuna and Lee Chanmi (og character)!" Coach Kang says excitedly.
"Hi! I'm Yuna and I'm a freshman. I'm very excited to try my best to be in this team!"
"Hello, I'm Chanmi, a sophomore. I too, will try my best."
Several greetings and chit-chat were exchanged between the team as the two new players get welcomed into the team.
"Alright everyone! You know the drill! 5 laps around the gym, let's go!" Yeji yells out loud to be heard over the team's excitement about having two new members.
