Chapter 10

Ryujin's Perspective

It's been two months since Yeji and Ryujin started dating, and the couple couldn't be any happier. Maybe it's because they're in their honeymoon phase, but regardless, Ryujin feels like she's on the top of the world. They've been hanging out more often, mainly at Ryujin's place because there's no one else home. Not that they're doing anything that they don't want people to see! No! Most definitely not. Unless?

No.

"Get your head out of the gutter, Ryujin! You haven't even k—kissed her yet!" Ryujin thinks in her head as she walks in the hallways.

Ryujin shakes her head just as someone calls her name.

"Ryujinnie!"

The girl turns around and sees her friend, Chaeryeong, walking over to her. Ryujin smiles in response and waits for the girl to catch up with her. Once their steps match up, Chaeryeong speaks up.

"So what are you going to do for her?"

"Huh?" Ryujin confusingly asks.

"Oh. My. Gosh. You really have no idea, do you? Some lady's woman you are."

Still not understanding what Chaeryeong is talking about, Ryujin playfully shoves the girl to tell her.

"Just tell me already Chaeryeong-ah!"

"Ok, ok, geez! It's senior night, Ryujinnie!"

It is then that it dawns on the girl that it's the very last volleyball league game, where only seniors are allowed to play. And that Yeji is a senior. Which means—

"OMG, IT'S YEJI'S LAST GAME!"

At this, Ryujin halts and does a 180. She starts running who knows where, leaving Chaeryeong in her dust.

"... and there she goes," Chaeryeong exasperatedly smiles and walks to her next class.

When lunch comes around, Ryujin immediately heads to the soccer field. She sits on one of the many seats in the bleachers and takes out her notebook. There were a couple of people here and there speckled on the bleachers. No one really noticed the pink-haired girl sitting by herself. After all, she did choose to sit kind of far from the other students. Once she takes out her writing utensils, Ryujin starts jotting down ideas of what she should do for Yeji's last game. Being very last minute played a huge role in this thought process.

Maybe fill the gym with balloons of her favorite color?

Nah, people wouldn't know who it would be for. Plus, she doesn't have enough time to blow up all those balloons.

Then, spell out her name with those big golden balloons?

Nah, Yeji doesn't like being the center of attention.

But doesn't Yeji deserve to be the center of attention for tonight at least?

Most definitely.

Nevertheless, Ryujin knows that doing something public wouldn't cause a positive reaction.

Before Ryujin could start brainstorming other ideas, she receives a text message from Yuna.

"Unnie! Where are u?"
"Everyone's here except u :("

Ever since Ryujin joined Yeji's group of friends, they've gotten even closer than before. Of course, she couldn't just drop her own gang, so they all decided to just merge into one big group. Now, the entourage contains Yeji, Ryujin, Yuna, Lia, Chaeryeong, Minjee, Heejin, and Lila (oc from one of the beginning chapters). Ryujin tries to think of a response in order to not seem suspicious.
