Yeji's Perspective
"...but Yuna isn't the captain of the volleyball team?" Yeji nervously says.
"..."
"..."
"To think our scholar angel can't put two and two together," Ryujin shakes her head.
"I— Wha—" Yeji stutters. "She called me angel twice in the span of about an hour?"
"To be honest, that's not how I wanted my confession to be. In a library of all places, geez. Anyhow, the cat's out of the bag now. It's you. Yeji. I, Shin Ryujin, high school junior student and supposedly proclaimed star forward striker, is asking Hwang Yeji, our school's pride and joy and resident angel, to please go out with me. I like you, Yeji."
"..."
"Yeji? You don't have to accept, I just thought maybe you were giving off some signals but I guess not. I mean, I understand—"
"No!" Yeji interrupts Ryujin.
"No?" Ryujin asks dejectedly.
"Wait, that's not what I meant. I mean, yes, or maybe, or I'm not sure. Uh, can you give me some time?" Yeji hopefully asks.
"Time? Oh, yeah, sure. Of course. Yeah, this might be a lot to handle. Yes. Yeah. Anyways, errr, I think I should get going. Got to go to practice, haha. Take care, beauti— I mean Yeji... unnie. Yes ok. I'm leaving. Ok ya. Bye." Ryujin stammers out before she takes her leave.
Yeji watches as the ever cool Ryujin clumsily pack away her pencils, and hastily put her backpack on before stumbling on the chair. Finally, she accidentally kicks the leg of the table and whimpers in agony as she holds onto her foot.
"Are— are you ok?" Yeji quickly gets up.
Ryujin puts her hand up to signal that she's ok, "haha, I'm good, yup. Yeah, you know, nothing can hurt my feet... cause like, I kick soccer balls all the time. My feet are... seasoned."
"Oh, ok," Yeji replies unsure.
"Yup, bye!"
Once Ryujin really makes her leave, Yeji face palms her face and lays her head down on the desk.
"She asked me out! Why didn't I accept?! Stupid Yeji," Yeji frustratedly thinks.
She continues mourning for herself for a few minutes before deciding to take her leave as well. Yeji puts away her materials before leaving the library, heading home. It's the first time in the past two years that Yeji didn't go watch Ryujin's soccer practice. She just needs some time to process everything that just happened, is all.

The next day didn't feel any better. On top of not being able to sleep all night, Yeji also has a game today. Her heart wouldn't stop hammering as she walks up to the front gates of her school. It's early in the morning, an hour and a half before school starts. Which means there shouldn't really be that many students around yet, with the exception of the student athletes. Most of the notorious sports teams typically have practice in the morning. What sports is the school known for? Volleyball, swim, and of course, soccer.
That's why Yeji is now currently wearing her volleyball varsity jacket. Hood up, jacket zipped all the way, and hands shoved in her pockets, Yeji walks with her head down. She didn't want to be spotted by her. What would she say? 'Uh, sorry Ryujin, I still need a bit more time?' Or 'hey Ryujin, I've actually been crushing on you the past two years and was actually waiting for your confession?'
