Fang soon walked into the hall, in human form again, looking around. After being certain that he wasn't followed by any of the vampires, he looked out for another smell. It was distinctly unique and one that he already had experience with.
"I can smell you." He said.
"I'm aware of that, but as per your king's commands, I cannot show myself." Soterasiel said.
"You can show yourself to only me." Fang said.
"I'd rather not risk it." Siel's voice replied.
"Very well then. Follow me." Fang said, walking down the hallway with the guardian angel following after him.
"So, you're my charge's familiar?" Soterasiel asked.
"I am. We have a contract and our lives our linked." Fang confirmed as he went up a set of stairs.
"Ah. So we're much the same, then." Siel said.
"Yes, though I'll be able to know when she's in pain. Physically and mentally." Fang said, coming to a halt in front of a door. "What have they told you about your charge?"
"Only that this is a very unique case. I don't believe a guardian angel has been assigned to a vampire before." Siel said, "I wasn't told much about her, besides her being a princess and with a certain...temperamental streak."
"So, they didn't tell you what she actually is." Fang said as he opened the door. "This stays between the us and the King. I had to get permission from him to tell you this. It wasn't easy."
"Tell me what?"
Fang walked inside, showing the king's study. He motioned to the fireplace and looked up at the large portrait that hung above it, "This was painted on their wedding day."
In the portrait stood the King and beside him was a woman with long, curly silver hair and striking, lavender eyes. She wore a lovely wedding gown and had a small, gold crown on her head. Her left hand was holding the king's, but her right was resting on her small, clearly pregnant belly.
Siel's blue eyes widened, "Wait...this is her mother, the Queen?"
"She looks familiar to you, doesn't she?" Fang asked.
"I...no, it can't be." Siel said.
"Aliyah's half angel." Fang said, looking at Siel.
"Then...Almighty..." Siel said, looking at it as if he'd seen a ghost.
"This is her mother, Celestia. Looks so much like her, doesn't she?" Fang said with a small smile, "I believe she got her temper from her as well."
"I should know. She was a friend of mine." Siel said, "Why didn't I recognize her?"
"Siel, Aliyah doesn't know about her mother's side. The King wanted to tell her. Wanted to know her angelic family. Even prayed for her to meet them, but none came. Not wanting to break his daughter's heart, he kept it secret. But he does plan to tell her on her sixteenth birthday."
"I see..." Siel said, "But as her guardian angel, I can keep no secrets from her, intentionally. If she asks, I'll have to tell her..."
"I understand. But until then, keep it to yourself." Fang said, walking passed Siel.
"Hope she doesn't ask me, then."
Fang nodded and walked out the door, waving for Siel to continue, "Now we must prepare. It's time for our Princess's fifteenth birthday ball."
