Friends and Enemies

Chapter 7

       As we walked, I checked Alex's schedule and walked him to the classes that it showed. We have three classes together, I'm very grateful for it too. Many bow their heads at Alex when we walk past, some give blank faces and keeping walking. Every though that is a sign of disrespect, Alex pays no mind to it as though it doesn't even effect him. In these moments, I'm very observant of his and others movement and actions. Of course I'm mostly ignored, I don't mind it, attention is not something I crave, I simply just want to bring what I have to the table and leave there. Teicu is the complete opposite, she practically bathes in attention, even if she doesn't talk much. 

'I can hear your thoughts, dumb one.'

'And yet you still don't do anything about it.'

"Penny for your thoughts?"

My head snaps to see Alex looking at me with curiosity in his eyes, "Just observing." 

He smiles, "What have you seen?"

"I've seen that you've been disrespected and you don't even bat an eye at them. You're movements are smooth, not too smooth though. There's a little tension in you shoulders, relax," he watches me carefully as a spew my words out. 

"I choose to ignore them, I'm not Alpha yet so I don't exactly have the authority to boss them around. I can bring it up to my father and mention it to him, he is the one who brings 'justice' to their actions. About me being tense, I'm just not in a place I recognize, it's only natural to be tense," I wrap my right arm around his left arm, hoping to be closer to him.

Turning to my left I stop at his last class, "Why do you have to follow rules if you don't like them?"

"I don't hate the rules I'm given, they keep everything in check, besides it's not my place to decide if I want to follow the rules or not," his voice was monotone.

I scuff, "You're aloud to make your own choices, break the rules if that what you want to do, fuck the consequences."

     He didn't reply after that, he just seemed stuck in his head, I couldn't look either since he put a wall up on our mind-link. A ringing of the bell signaled it was time to go to second period, I smiled at Alex and let go of his arm. He nodded and walked to his next class, I didn't mind that he didn't want to walk me to mine, I'm use to walking around school by myself. Since we were on the second floor I had to find the stairs that lead to my class. It didn't go unnoticed that many she-wolves were watching me with either jealousy or anger in their eyes. I never got why girls did that when you got with a guy they could have liked, they should be happy for that person, glad they have a chance with their many options. This shouldn't bother me and well it kind of doesn't, I'm happy so that's all that matters.

   Before I know it I'm walking into second period, taking a seat in the back like usual. In the corner of me left eye, I see two girls walking up to me. Oh goody, high school drama.

"So you and Alex are together?"

I look up to see two black haired girls standing in front of me, "Well I mean we are mates, it's only natural to be in a relationship with him."

She looked at me like she was confused, "The Alpha wouldn't let an Omega be mates his heir."

"Well I guess you thought wrong," I smiled at her, I'm only giving her slight attitude.

The black haired girl extended her hand, "I don't know if you've heard of me but, I'm Charlie Hudson. My brother is the upcoming third in command, Alaric. Also this is my sister, Angeni."

"I'm Antheia," I takes her hand and shake it once before letting go then doing the say with her sister. "So do you hang around Amelia?"

"Her and friends aren't exactly the type of crowd we hang with," I nod and take note that Angeni doesn't talk much.

The bell rings again, meaning the period has begun, both the girl sit next to me, "I don't mean to be rude but, why are you talking to me? If you're choosing now to be my friend, are you doing it because Alex is my mate?"

Charlie smiles, "We've always been old that we couldn't be friends with an Omega. I know it's wrong to be your friend now since everything that's happened. It's still worth a shot though, right?"

"We didn't really like not being able to friends with Omega's, hopefully you being the future Luna will change that," I look at Angeni and nod, taking my notebook and pen we begin the class.

      The last bell of the day rings, I quickly pack all my things and head to the front of the school. I talk to Charlie and Angeni a little more during lunch, Alex just sat and listened, I would make small talk with him sometimes before lunch ended. All in all, both the girl are very nice and I'm kind of glad they talked to me, I just wish it was sooner. I guess rules are rules, they have to follow them or else they're in more trouble then any other wolf would be.

Pushing through the crowd of random kids, I make it to the front where I see Alex waiting. I walk up to him and give him a peck on the cheek causing him to smile, "How was you day?"

I pulled away so we could start walking to his car, "Nothing too special, how was your first day?"

"Pretty good, a lot of people wanted to be friends with me actually. I'm sure it's because I'm the future Alpha," his posture was tense again.

I intertwine our hands, "That's ok, you have the Beta, he is suppose to be your right hand man. Besides, you have me, maybe Charlie and Angeni."

He opens the passenger side door when we reach his car, letting me get in, "I grew up around them, Owen is like a brother to me."

    We didn't continue talking after that, instead we enjoyed the silence that fell over us as he got into the car and started it. It took a while to get out of the parking lot since everyone was leaving. Some watched as we left, some weren't, those who didn't I was grateful for. Once we reach the road it wasn't too long before he parked in front of my house. I look at his and smile.

"Do you want to come in?"

He makes an thinking faces and smirks, "Of course I do."

I giggle and get out of the car, he came quickly after me. Walking up the porch steps, I unlock the front door, "Are sure your parents won't mind?"

"Do you think I care?"

"Nope," I close the door and kiss him deeply. "Lets go up stairs."

His everlasting smirk displayed on his face, "Ok."
