Chapter 10

-----------------------------

I've been sat at a long table where hundreds of wolves talk amongst themselves while eating breakfast. To my left was my mother, across from me was Alex, and to my right was a woman in her early 20's. The breakfast that we were given consisted of pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. I drooled at the site, I heard Alex chuckle as I wiped the drool away and dug in.

"Very lady like," Alex says with a big smile on his face.

I put my right hand in front of my face, "My compliments to the chef."

He shakes his head and continues eating. I survey the room completely again and see at the right end of the table sat the Luna who was talking to those around her and the Alpha is to my left focused on his food. Quickly, I take my eyes off him before he can notice and look at my mother. She was picking at her food and eating slowly, her eyes were glazed over. I wonder what that's about, I know for a fact she would've smacked the back of my head for my behavior a few minutes ago. At some point I'll have to talk to her in private.

I was coming to the point where there were scraps on my plate when I felt a heated stare on the left side of my head. With an eyebrow raised, I look up and meet the eyes of the Alpha. This made me slightly annoyed what could he possibly want now. He narrowed his eyes a little.

Through mind-link I say, 'What?'

'An Omega shouldn't be sitting at this table, you should be eating elsewhere with the rest,' venom clung to his words.

I stare at him tiredly, 'I will earn my place.'

He chuckled and others looked at him like he was crazy until they noticed what was going on, 'I have no hope.'

'Then I guess I better start now,' I smirked while turning towards the women next to me. "Hello, I'm Antheia, Alexander's mate," she looks at me questioningly but goes with it.

"Kelsey, but friends call me Kels," she smiled at me while turning her body towards me.

"I like it, Kels. I don't have a nickname sadly. I was wondering if you wanted to maybe hang out with sometime."

She pulls out her phone and eventually hands to me to her my number, "Of course, just text me and let me know when."

I text myself off of her phone for later and smile, "Ok, I hope we can be good friends."

"Me too."

We continue to talk for a few more minutes until someone picked up my plate. I looked up to see Alex smiling at me. With that I dismiss myself and go with him. Kelsey seemed really nice and I was surprised she agreed so quickly to hang out with me. I guess I should ask Charlie and Angeni if they want to come over too. Blindly, I follow Alex wherever he headed while still thinking about everything. Suddenly, like someone snipped their fingers in my face, I remember that I needed to talk to my mother.

Alex didn't seem to notice me leave since he was talking to some of the pack members. I didn't mind, I have a certain someone to talk to anyways, if I can find her. Walking back to the kitchen, I sniff the air and find her scent. Her scent leads me to a room upstairs which I'm guessing as her room. I knock on the door and not to long after she opens it, letting me in.

I walk past her and take a seat on the left side of her bed, "You seemed distracted at breakfast."

She gave a slightly shocked expression, "I've just been thinking about everything that's been going on. I can't just sit around and pretend like everything is going to be ok. Though, a true Luna shouldn't show so much concern."
