Jenna's POV

Tony stayed here for a few days and just left yesterday. The entire time he slept with me in my bed and Gerard on the couch. I should really move to a bigger apartment so I can have a guest room. I have more money than I know what to do with now, so maybe I can even get a house? This way I can get a dog for Dextin. And even a cat! Like Lola. I miss her.

"Hey Gerard?"

He looks up at me from the book he's reading on the lounge chair.

"How's Lola? I mean like the past six years. How was she? I miss her."

Gerard puts the book down and walks over to where I'm sitting on the couch, plopping himself right next to me.

"Lola was pretty much the same. At first she really missed you, but then she moved on. I have to say I kind of did the same. I never would have thought I would be back here. I was actually just days away from being assigned a partner."

Wow. So I just missed him getting a brand new life. Thankfully the interview was last week instead of this week. I lean into Gerard and hug him. He returns it and we just stay like that for a few moments. But suddenly he just jerks away and stands up. I look at him, puzzled.

"We uh can't be doing that. Remember? You're still dating Tony."

I laugh. Does he forget that Tony left?

"Tony left. And besides, it's just a hug. A hug isn't cheating."

Gerard goes back to his lounge chair and sits back down in it.

"Still."

He picks up his books and continues reading. Man that was weird. I turn on the tv and flick through the channels, finally deciding on some comedy. Maybe this will distract me from how strange Gerard is acting.

***********************

Over the past week, Gerard's behavior has become increasingly different. It's like we're basically just coexisting in this house. He barely talks to me and sleeps on the couch full time. I'm so confused, did I do something? I keep on trying to talk to him about it, but he just makes an excuse every time. This time, he's not getting out of it so easy.

"Gerard."

He looks up from his spot on the couch.

"Oh you're back from dropping off Dextin and running your errands! I'll get out of your way."

He goes to get up but I place my hand on his shoulder.

"No Gerard. Sit down. We need to talk."

He does as I say and sits.

"W-what about?"

I give him an 'are you kidding me' look. He has to know.

"Well, I don't know if you noticed, but you've been really distance lately. Ever since Tony arrived. Like I get why you were when he was here, but he's been gone for over a week! You have some explaining to do."

Gerard takes a deep breath then looks me in the eyes.

"You deserve to be with Tony. He treats you well, and I can tell you really like him. I'm here to be with Dextin, that's it. You don't need me."

Gerard's POV

That must have been the hardest thing I have ever said. And I can tell by Jenna's face that I just broke her heart.

"No! I don't want Tony! I want you!"

Can she please not make this harder than it already is.

"Then why didn't you break up with him when he was here?"

I can tell that I stumped her with this question. It's a few minutes before she responds. And when she does, it's in a whisper.

"Because I was scared."

What? Scared? That makes no sense.

"Of what Jenna?"

She shakes her head in frustration.

"Scared of the tabloids, the press. I'm famous, remember? So if I break up with him as soon as my baby daddy, you, comes back into town, my career would be ruined. They would say that I left him for you, and maybe was with both of you at the same time. So that's why I have to wait a while. Okay?"

So even she's scared of what Tony said would happen. That means I have to do everything in my power to stay as far away from her as I can. So I do the only thing I can think of.

"Whatever."

I storm away. Out the door. I ignore Jenna calling after me. I make my way outside, and instantly start to shiver. Damn I forgot a coat. But I don't go back. I take a long walk, reaching a café. Jenna gave me some pocket money, so I buy myself a pastry.

As I eat, my mind is swarming. With thoughts of what I should do. I know I can't be near Jenna anymore. No matter how much I love her, I would never forgive myself if I ruined her career. But where would I go? Wait, I know where.

I throw out my garbage and head back to the apartment. I see Jenna is gone, so I'm guessing she left to go pick up Dextin. I wish I got to say goodbye to him.

I find a plastic bag and fill it with the small amount of belongings I have. Then I take out my locator and type in Hayley's name. It's not that far of a walk, and this time I have my jacket with me.

As I walk, I think about what I'm doing. Is this really the best idea? I hope Hayley and Jerome think so.

Not too much later, I arrive at their house. I knock on the door and Hayley opens it a minute later.

"Gerard? What are you doing here?"

"Can I come in and talk to you? It's kind of cold out here."

She nods and holds the door open wider for me. I take off my shoes as she closes the door, then follow her to the family room. Jerome sits there on his phone, but looks up when I sit down in the seat across from the couch he's on.

"Oh hey Gerard, where's Jenna?"

I sigh. Hearing her name hurts.

"I uh, came here without her. See Tony came to visit Jenna last week, and he threatened me while he was there. He said that if he finds out if we even look at each other affectionately, he'll ruin Jenna's career by telling the press she's a cheater. He told me that it doesn't matter to him if they're together or not, he'll still get publicity. So I left. This way I can't let her ruin her career for me."

They both just stare at me in shock.

"What! I thought Tony was so nice! I wanted to be best buds with him."

Jerome starts to pout, so Hayley places her hand on his arm to comfort him.

"That's how they get you. Put on a deceiving fake smile then pounce when you're distracted."

Jerome still pouts, so Hayley looks up to me.

"So I'm guessing you're not going to be living with Jenna anymore? You could definitely live with us, we even have a guest room you can use."

I nod, so Hayley brings me to the guest room upstairs. Their house is actually really nice.

"You can stay here as long as you want, which I assume is until Jenna and Tony break up. And please, don't be a total bump on the log. Help around and whatnot. I know you will, you were always so helpful back when you lived with all of us before."

With that, Hayley leaves me to get settled in my new room. I lay down on the bed and stare up at the ceiling. I really hope they break up soon.

Oopsie. Don't hate me. But how are we liking the Gee POVs?? It's nice since it was all Jenna in the beginning. Also I'm proud of my fast updating, which probably won't last for long since classes start back up in 5 days:( oh well, I'll see you next time!
