Shouto has always been such a curious person. Ever since he was a little kid, he'd always ask his mother questions along the lines of, how did this work? What did this do? His mother would inform him of what the things were if they were beneficial. Other times she'd say "I'll tell you when you're old enough to understand." The young man seem to realize early on that his family's favorite saying towards him was, "curiosity killed the cat."
Shouto would let his eyes roll, because he always hears that stupid saying. Everywhere he goes, he either hears his parents say it, his siblings, friends, or even strangers say it, and it was draining! But in the end when he would decide to be defiant and do what he was told not to do, curiosity did indeed kill the cat. Shouto would get minor injuries, a couple major, but mostly minor. However, he knew not to do those things anymore. He wasn't a fan of pain.
Did this stop Shouto Todoroki from his curious ways? No, not even in the slightest.
As Shouto grew up, his mind began to lean toward things in life that weren't as ignorant. And his curiosity was fueled even more when his father, Enji Todoroki, allowed him to come to his workplace to see what he did.
Shouto's father worked as the head doctor of Tokyo Asylum. An institute for the mentally disabled. Enji always checked on his youngest son to see if he was okay with going to see what he did for a living. The ginger didn't want to upset him. But Shouto was bold, very bold, and nothing bothered him when it came to his curiosity.
However, on this particular day, he spotted something that really fueled that old hobby. Or rather than something, Shouto saw someone.

Shouto walks up the stairs of the massive brick building. Moving pass nurses and visitors that he could care less about. He opened the left side of the double door and entered into the next set of doors. The two toned haired teen makes his way over to the front desk. On the other side was a raven haired woman who was one the phone, her name tag reading Kayama N. Shouto could sense the irritation on her tone of voice.
"Ma'am, I can assure you that Dr. Todoroki sent in the prescription just three hours ago....yes I understand your son needs them and we've–hello? Ugh!"
Nemuri puts the phone down and rubs the bridge of her nose before looking up at Shouto. She smiles, "hey honey, sorry to keep you waiting."
Shouto chuckles, "it's okay Kayama-san, I wasn't waiting long. Plus, I understand how people are, considering the fact I've lived around my dad for sixteen years."
The ravenette hums at the boy's response, "your father isn't that bad. He can just be cranky a lot of the time. Well, I'll send you off, Dr. Todoroki's been waiting for you."
Nemuri pushes a button beside her, Shouto heard the familiar click! of the door unlocking, the double doors slowly opening. "Thank you", he says with a small bow before going through the doors. He passes many offices, looking for the one that was the largest (cause his dad's a show off). Once Shouto was at the oak wood doors, he knocks first, hearing a gruff 'come in' before actually opening the doors. "How was school?"
Shouto sighs, "it was okay", he answers, "just boring per usual."
"You're always bored about something."
"Don't I get that from you?"
"I suppose you do, and your brother Touya."
