Even before Zhan's mission to save their marriage had even begun, Yibo brought it to an end. Failure on all fronts. No sooner had they reached the air and Zhan told him the name of their mission than Yibo started a fight. He didn't like the idea, he wanted to go home, it was exaggerated, his family would worry if he didn't get in touch. When Yibo came with his family, Zhan had enough, he went to the cockpit and talked to his old and good friend, the pilot, and asked him to turn back.

One of the soldiers on site brought them home. They sat silently in the car, Zhan in the passenger seat and Yibo in the back seat. When they left the car, Zhan took his duffel bag and without waiting for Yibo, he went back. Zhan was just disappointed and angry. Yibo followed him and on the way up tried to take Zhan's hand and hold it, but Zhan wouldn't let him. He finally had enough!

Arriving at the apartment, Yibo first wanted to apologize to Zhan. He said he had overreacted and didn't think, he was sorry. But Zhan remained tough. This time he would not give in, not just forgive and do what he should have done a long time ago. He went into the bedroom, got a suitcase from the storage room and packed his things. Meanwhile, Yibo was busy talking to his family on the phone. Only when he saw Zhan come out of the bedroom with the suitcase and take his duffel bag back, did Yibo drop his phone and pay attention to Zhan.

Yibo: Where are you going?

Zhan: It doesn't matter, as long as I get away from here and away from you.

Yibo: What does that mean?

Zhan: It means I give up!

Yibo: What do you give up?

Zhan: Simply, us!

Zhan opened his duffel bag while Yibo stared at him with eyes wide open. He pulled a file out of his duffle bag and handed it to Yibo.

"You should look at everything again and learn from it. Your mission did not only fail because your partner went crazy. Look at the mistakes you made. You wanted to treat a rookie like a friend, OK. But then a coffee here and there would have been enough. Instead, you took her out to dinner at a restaurant, you took her to the movies, you took her for walks in the park where you bought her ice cream and you took her to your parents' house. And that's exactly why, because they were all nothing but romantic dates, she believed you could have feelings for her and that you wanted her to fight for you. You confused her, you didn't have a professional attitude from the beginning and made her believe that you were interested in her. Look at the file about your failed mission, learn from your mistakes so that you don't make any more mistakes next time and get your new partner into trouble." Zhan explained and left the apartment shortly afterwards.

He had nothing else to say and did not want to say anything else, he should take care of everything and everyone else, he did not care anymore. How many times had he given in and forgiven? How often did he just let his feelings decide when Yibo had disappointed him again? Now it was over! Zhan was sick and tired of being the one to give in forever. Who was he then? Was he some kind of weak guy who was dependent on someone's love? No, he wasn't. He's Special Agent Xiao Zhan and he doesn't take crap from anyone! Enough fun! Now he reached the point where he's tired of playing games. And above all, he's not going to let Yibo lead him around by the nose anymore.

Zhan went to a hotel in town and booked himself a room for a week. He wanted to use this week to find a new apartment and concentrate only on himself. After all the months he had been on assignment, he had a few weeks of vacation anyway and he would now take advantage of that to completely rearrange his life and make new rules.

The next morning he called his supervisor and asked him to assign a new partner to him. His superior wanted to know why. Zhan explained that Yibo needed a more experienced colleague who had no feelings for him. Someone who could teach him everything he had been taught. If Yibo wanted to be an agent, he had to learn from someone how an agent thinks, acts and feels. Zhan could not teach him this, what had Yibo learned from him? What good was the knowledge he had learned from Zhan the first time he had used Yibo for a long time? No, Zhan was not the right person to show Yibo what makes an agent.

Zhan: I think it would be better if Yibo started at the bottom. He needs to know every area.

Boss: But right now, I don't have anyone to help you.

Zhan: And is that bad? I got along on my own before I joined the Black Agency. And if you really want Yibo to work for you as an agent and be a helpful collaborator, then he should learn everything.

Boss: Alright. However, I wonder if maybe there's more to it than that. Why now all at once?

Zhan: I read the file about his mission and immediately realized his mistakes. I wonder why no one pointed it out to him? Why spare him? You should have told him clearly what his mistakes were.

For quite a while Zhan had been talking and discussing with his boss on the phone until he finally gave in and enrolled Yibo for duty at the surveillance center. Zhan was grateful to him for this. Now Zhan had only one thing left to do, he had to become his old self again. The cool and aloof man that he once was. He had to take back his hard shell. And who better to help him than his old friend and colleague Park Seo Joon? He called him immediately and asked him for help. When it came to coolness, he was the best. Even Park Hae Jin couldn't keep up with him.

Only two days later Zhan was lucky and found a bright and comfortable and most of all furnished apartment. He signed the lease the same day and moved in the very next day. Now he had something of his own again. A nice and cozy three-room apartment. The extra room had two functions, at least that's what he planned. One would be his office and the other a guest room. Seo Joon would soon come to visit him and would need a room. Zhan could hardly let him sleep on the sofa in the living room. At least he was immediately ready to help Zhan.
