Chapter 4 - I Will Never, See Him again.
We all piled out of the building, squeezing past people who where blocking out way. "How amazing was that!?" Anna squealed, directing the question to me. I just smiled and kept walking. I couldn't stop thinking about George. His face kept repeating in my mind, and the way he smiled and our eyes connected. The way his voice sent shivers down my back, and the way each breath he took sent my heart racing. I must of zoned out, because the next thing I knew, the girls where all pulling on my arm.
"What was that for?" I snapped, rubbing my arm. I was feeling depressed and comfused, I didn't mean to snap, I don't know what is wrong with me. "You nearly walked into the lamp-post." Andrea giggled.
I looked around me and realised we where outside. "You where in a world of your own Char" Sofia frowned, raising her eyebrows at me. I gave her an "I'll explain later look." I didn't feel like telling the other girls. Even though we where all close, I could trust Sofia more than the other two.
She just nodded and looked back at Andrea, who was talking, but no one was listening.
We kept walking in silence down the street towords Anna's house. It was around 4pm now, the time London was normally at it's busiest, so it didn't surprise me that hurricanes of people flew past us.
"So, who where your favourites?" Sofia asked, eyeing me suspiciously as we turned the corner. We all shrugged, letting Andrea speak first. "Well Gary obviously..."
Sofia gave her a "really?" look. "Oh, you mean contestants?" Andrea asked, chuckling.
"Obviously." I mumbled.
"Well, probably Triple J, they where hot and talented." She smiled. Anna and Sofia both nodded approvingly, as they agreed. Then they looked at me, not needing to ask.
I swollowed the lump in my throat, and said, "I, I think George Shelley was my favourite..."
Thanfully, they didn't take it too personaly, they just nodded, and began a conversation on how amazing his hair was, leaving me tangled in my own thoughts.
Maybe it meant nothing, I mean all he did was look at me, maybe I looked like someone? Or maybe there was something on my head? No, he winked and smiled.. why would he do that if I was looking bad? Perhaps he was just trying to win my votes, yeah that was all.
We reached Anna's house, and said our goodbyes before she walked back inside. I caught a glimpse of Ryan in the window, and smiled. He returned in before dissapearing out of view. Now that I had George in my brain, I didn't think of Ryan as much as I would normally have.
"Earth to Charley?" Sofia practicially shouted, waving her hand in my face. I snapped to reality and shook my head to wake myself up. "Sorry." I mumbled. I noticed Andrea was walking away from us. "Where's she off to?" I asked curiously.
"She's off to her Aunties for dinner, you want to come to mine and explain some things?" Sofia asked, dragging me away from Anna's house and back down to the busy high streets.
I nodded, not knowing what to say. Should I tell her the truth? I knew Sofia too well to lie, she would guess right away, she was smart like that.
"So tell me, was it George? Has he stolen your heart already?" Sofia laughed, breaking the awkward silence as we walked in the direction of her flat. I knew she was joking, but it left me thinking. He hadn't stolen my heart, I had only seen him on stage! I didn't even know what he was like inside! But I had never felt like this about a boy before, not even Ryan.
I gave a fake laugh and shook my head. "No" I lied, "I, I was just thinking about how hot he was..." I knew I shouldn't have lied, because Sofia froze, and stopped me, looking me in the eye.
