Chapter 5 - Time Flies

--- A  Month Later ---

"Gotcha!" I squealed as I felt two strong arms grab me, and swing me in the air. "Mark!" I giggled, squirming to get out of his grip. But his musclular arms kept me safe and warm, away from the chilly wind that surrounded the park. He smirked and pecked my lips passionatly, before setting me back down on my feet, and taking my hand in his. We walked down the hill in comferable silence, both of us lost in our thoughts. My relationship with Mark was going great, and we seemed to be happy. Well, he did. I wasn't so sure. He was a great guy, he really was, I just felt like.. like something was missing.

We got to the bottom of the hill, and turned to the right, towords the Coffee shop in the corner. I sighed as the warm air hit me when I walked into the comfy cafe. My hand left Mark's and I took off my wellies, replacing them with my converse, or my "work shoes" as I called them.

"I have to get ready Mark" I frowned, putting my hair into a bobble. "See you later?" I asked, hopefull. Even if we weren't too coupley, I still loved spending time with Mark, even though half the time he acted more like my bestfriend than my boyfriend.

"Don't miss me too much!" He teased, brushing my lips softy. I couldn't help but feel dissapointed that he didn't leave a tingly feeling, or my head whirling. He just didn't seem to have that effect on me. "I'll try not to!" I joked, playing along. He just smiled then walked out, leaving a trail of leaves from his boots on the wooden floor.

I watched him walk away in the distance, until he had pretty much dissapeared. Then I smiled lightly to myself, and ran upstairs towords my room. When I got in, I speed-walked to my wardrobe, and pulled out my work uniform. A pink top with the Coffee Shops logo on the right hand side, Jeggings, and a white apron thing I used to put money and my notepad in.

"Char?" I looked up and smiled when I saw Mairead come in, wearing the same clothes as I was. "Oh!" She grinned when she saw me, "there you are! How was Mark?" She asked, winking. I shook my head, both at her immiturness, and also in respond to the question.

Her face fell as she came over and gave me a quick friendly hug. "Babe, why? What did he do? I swear if he hurt you I'll.." I giggled and put my finger over her mouth before she could continue. This was my friendly way of shutting her up when she rambled on, which was normally most of the time.

"Mai, he didn't hurt me, he's fine, we're fine.. Its just..." I trailed off, frowning and trying to find the right words to explain to Mairead. She wasn't the easiest person to talk to. Even if she was my best friend, that didn't make it any easier.

"Its just what?" She questioned, raising her eyebrows. I took a deep breath, "I just don't think me and Mark, have... chemistry.." I mumbled. Mairead still looked comfused, so I rolled my eyes and tried again, talking more slowly this time.

"What I mean, is when we kiss, it doesn't leave that amazing, tingly feeling its supposed to. He acts more like my bestfriend or brother than my boyfriend, and he isn't.. he isn't my type." I said.

Mairead was quiet for a minute, as if she was thinking. "Maybe you should dump him?" She suggested patheticially. I groaned and face-palmed myself. Sometimes she could be, extremely dumb. "No! I can't just dump him like that?" I said, clicking my fingers.

Just then, I heard my mum shout us from downstairs, telling us we had customers. For once, I was thankful. I didn't want to explain to Mairead any further.

We both walked down the stairs, and towords the cash register, behing the counter. What I saw next, I wasn't prepared for. I looked up, and my eyes met his. The eyes I hadn't forgotten about the for the last month. The eyes that had winked at me. The eyes that made me melt inside.

Suddenly, memories began filling my head. The singing, the voice, the hair, the contact, the smile, the dimples, the day I went over to Sofia's. Standing in front of me, was none other than, George Shelley. And beside him, stood his three attractive band mates.

JJ, Jaymi and Josh. Yes, band mates. They had been put together as a group, when the judges decieded to bring them back to the Judges houses, they had been named, Union J. They all stood awkwardly looking at me and Mairead, waiting for someone to speak.

What I was really concentrating on though, was George, and the look he was giving me, as if he was trying to memorize me. Then his look changed. His eyes lit up, and his frown turned upside down, making those adorable dimples apear. He remembered.
