Kelly's POV
For three weeks Donnie's visits continued at the same time every night. Every night was a new conversation filled with vivid details. I thought of our conversations as I laid on my bed waiting for him to show up. I smiled as I checked my phone for the time. It was 8:10 only 20 minutes until Donnie showed up, I let out a little laugh as I thought of how punctual he was. With a yawn
I swung my legs over the side of the bed stretching my arms, I took a glance at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a long sleeve sea green shirt, black shorts that went half way on my thighs. My hair was braided to my left side of my head with tiny curls in front of each of my ears.
To keep my mind distracted I decided to take a walk down the hallway. Looking each of photos hanging from the wall, all of them just happened to be photos of me and my brother. My first recital, my brothers first football game, our Christmas pictures together, and some candids. I wore a sad smile as I took them all in, its been hard to walk down this hallway since I lost my brother, my best friend, and my hero.
I was no longer walking, instead I was standing directly in front of his bedroom door. The door hadn't been open since the day we got the news, instinctually my hand went to my locket. I felt sorrow building in my chest as I slowly brought my hand to the door knob. Right as my hand touched the cool metal I heard a loud crash down stairs.
The sound startled me, back into reality turning my attention the stair case. The downstairs was completely dark making fear creep into me bones. Hesitantly I walked to top of the staircase and called out.
"Donnie?"
hoping it was my purple clad turtle. I knew better though, since he always came through my balcony doors. I started slowly walking down the stairs, clinching the railing as I went down, taking one step at time. I called out once again.
"Hello?"
There was another crash followed by light foot steps. I made it down to the bottom floor and quickly felt along the wall for the light switch. I finally found the switch and tried switching on the light several times to no prevail. My heart began thumping in my chest with fear.
Out of no where a ninja star hit the wall right next to my face causing me to let out a small scream. I froze in fear as I watched a figure walk towards me in the darkness.
"Kelly don't you know that monsters hide in the dark."
A rough deep voice spoke causing me to shudder.
"What do you want?"
I asked taking a small step towards the stairs.
"Well I'm here to get what my friends failed to retrieve."
I couldn't make out the figure but I knew it was a man from his deep voice.
"I don't know any friends of yours."
I said taking another small step towards the stairs. The man chuckled as he stepped closer to me.
"There not friends really. More like business partners, their ugly little creatures but very good with technology."
I know then that he was talking about the Kraang. I was three steps away from reaching the stairs.
"What do you want?"
I asked again hoping that there was no fear in my voice. In the dark lighting I was still able to see the mans brown eyes turn cold.
"I want that computer chip."
