Chapter 20

Donnie's POV

It was later in the afternoon and the whole family was gathered in the living room watching a movie. I was sitting on the end of the couch with Kelly's head in my lap, with her holding an ice pack on her nose, Leo was sitting on the other end of the couch with Kelly feet in his lap.

Raph was sitting in the floor leaning against the couch with Chanel leaning against his plastron, Mikey was sitting next to them and Klunk was sitting on top of his head. I wasn't paying to much attention to the movie though since it was disney night, and I had already seen everyone we owned. Kelly however was deeply into the movie, or what she could see of it since her eyes were swollen.

I kept my attention on Kelly as my fingers played with the curls in her hair. I was so caught up that I almost didn't notice Casey walk into the lair. He stood at the opening and didn't come any further I guess he was waiting for someone to notice him. So I waved to him and said.

"Hey Casey."

Raph turned his head and quickly jumped up, leaving Chanel to fall back against the couch.

"Yo Casey."

"Raph my man."

The two of them bro hugged each other and started up a new conversation.

"What's brought you down here?"

Raph asked.

"Well I'm actually here because someone has something they would like to say."

Casey said in an angry tone towards a shadow by the opening.

I knew who was talking about and I felt anger build inside of me. Kelly was on her feet in a blink of an eye, Mikey had paused the movie, the rest of us were now on feet waiting. Kelly threw her ice pack on the couch revealing her very swollen nose, I threw my arm around her shoulders and pulled her close to me.

She smiled up at me, I returned her smile and placed a small kiss on her forehead. April walked in with one eye completely swollen shut, her lip was swollen, she had claw marks like finger nails on her left cheek, and the majority of her face had band-aids. She had a weak smile until she saw Kelly, then her smile turned into a glare.

"April has something she would like to say. Don't you?"

Casey said giving April a shove. With a sigh April stepped forward.

"I'm sorry for my behavior earlier. I know it was wrong of me to act that way and I hope that this doesn't cause our friendship to fall apart."

She lowered her head.

"You have no reason to apologize us April. Your apology need to be towards Kelly and Donnie."

Leo said as he crossed his arms over her chest. Chanel and Mikey walked over to the other side to stand by Leo leaving, me and Kelly alone in the middle of the room. April let out another sigh a stepping closer to us.

"Donnie I'm sorry for all the trouble I have caused you. I hope you can forgive me and I hope our friendship isn't completely destroyed."

She said reaching out a hand and placing it on my shoulder, I looked at her hand before a jerking my arm back.

"It may not be completely destroyed April but it's not in good shape. It will take time to rebuild it, but I appreciate your apology."

I said giving her a small smile and tightening my arm around Kelly. April returned the smile before turning her back to walk away. Casey coughed and raised a bow at her making her stop and turn back around and look directly at Kelly.

"Kelly I'm sorry. "

April said with an annoyed look on her face. Kelly looked at her then at me with a smirk of annoyance.

"For what April?"

Kelly asked.

"For lying to you."

April said aggravated.

"And what else?"

Kelly gave her smirk.

"For picking a fight with you."

April said through her teeth.

"And?"

Kelly asked.

"And for being jealous of you and Donnie. There you happy?!"

April yelled taking a forceful step towards Kelly like she was ready to fight again. I pulled Kelly towards me as she stepped towards April accepting the challenge.

"Okay girls get back to acting civil."

Leo ordered causing both girl to stand down. Kelly relaxed into my side.

"April I accept your apology, but I hope you don't plan on being best friends."

Kelly smirked.

"I never planned on it sweetheart."

April said as she turned to walk out, she paused when she reached out to Casey and grabbed his arm pulling him towards the exit.

"Bye guys."

He waved before he was completely out of sight. When they were gone we all chuckled, the others went back to their seats, leaving me and Kelly standing there alone. I was staring down at her as she played with the ends of my bandana. She looked up at me with a slightly confused look.

"Why are you staring at me?"

She asked giving me a playful nudge.

"Because your beautiful."

I said pushing a piece of hair behind her ear. She blushed and smiled.

"My whole face is swollen Donnie." She said giving me a smile. I leaned down and placed a small soft kiss on her lips. I pulled away, smiled down at her and said.

"Your always beautiful in my eyes."
