You round the corner finding yourself at the entrance of an alley. There is no exit on the other side, but you sit at the edge of the wall.
"She killed him for you." you say to yourself, "She did what you weren't brave enough to do."
You hear the hushed sound of footsteps nearing you, "(Y/N)?" you hear Spinel call softly.
"Go away Spinel."
Spinel looks at you and crouches down, "(Y/N) I'm sorry." she brushes her hand across your arm and you flinch, "You're safe now..."
Your face turns angry, "How do I know you won't kill me too?!? How do I know that I'm really safe?!?"
She gives you a sad look, "(Y/N)... I would never hurt you."
You push her backwards, "I don't believe you!" you yell getting up. Tears stream down your face as you walk away. You want her to stop you, you want her to be there, but you can't trust her... You can't trust anyone.
Spinel grabs your hand to stop you, "(Y/N)! Where are you going to go?"
You sigh, "The beach. Not exactly like I have anywhere else to go."
She links her fingers with yours and it feels oddly comfortable, but you can't let your guard down.
"Mind if I come with?"
"Do I actually have a choice?" you joke.
She smirks, "Depends on if you make the right one."
You laugh quietly, "Maybe."
Spinel shrugs with a grin, "Close enough."
Hand in hand you walk to the beach. "Never thought I'd be walking with a murderer and feel oddly comfortable." you say quietly.
Spinel looks away with a pained look on her face, "I never thought I'd be a murderer."
You stop walking and she drops your hand, "We all have our flaws Spinel."
She looks at you, "I seem to have too many... I'm not good enough to even stay good and not hurt people."
Surprising even yourself, you pull the pink gem into a tight hug, "You're good enough for me." you whisper into her ear.
She returns the hug, "I wish that was true, but I'd probably somehow lose you too..."
