"Girls! The Moore boys are here, they're going to be your rides today!" Mom called up the steps. Rolling my eyes, I clipped back my curly bangs and walked down the steps, slipping my converse on as I made my way down the hall.
"Coming," I grumble and I'm joined by a chirpy Elizabeth.
"Did you guys have to be all mysterious yesterday? Dad had ketchup and barbeque sauce all over the place, I thought we were about to die!" I said exasperated and she laughed.
"Sorry, we didn't think about that. And then Rosetta dropped the vase, oh that was horrible!" Lizzy exclaimed and I laughed with her. Sitting down, we both ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Mary came down halfway through and ate a granola bar.
"That's unhealthy!" I shouted, my mouth full with cereal.
"And that's disgusting," She retorted. Lizzy laughed, earning an annoyed scowl from Mary. So, I guess we had an "interesting" family. There was a loud honk and we rolled our eyes... Looks like the guys are here. Yay (please note, extreme sarcasm)!
As we climbed into the boys' truck, I saw that John was sitting in the back seat. I was the first to climb in, and I made my way to the other side where John sat. He didn't say a word and just stared at his hands, his facial expression blank.
"Okay then..." I mumble to myself and we peel off, the four of us squished in the back while the three brothers sat more comfortable than us, in the front.
After an agonizing fifteen minutes, we finally pulled up and parked in the precise middle of the school's parking lot. Everyone got out, and I was the last to clamber out of the fancy truck. Who was I kidding, of course their truck would be fancy!
"John, cheer up! You don't need to be so sad that I whooped you in COD!" I exclaimed and a smile broke out on his face.
"That was beginners luck," He answers, laughing. I roll my eyes, smiling.
"Uh-huh, sure. That's exactly why I took you out with one shot," I replied, sarcasm dripping from every word spoken.
"Definitely!" He chirped and I shook my head at his childish skipping.
Once in homeroom, as I talked with Jake and John, we were surrounded by the entire population of guys in our class. They all said, "Hey man," or "Who's that?" or "Nice one, bro," I just rolled my eyes and blocked them out, watching as they all greeted each other. Boys were so weird.
"So, what's your name, doll-face?" A guy with brown hair that was swept to the side and big brown eyes asked me. Smiling sweetly, I giggled lightly. Then, swift as a gazelle I kicked him in the shin and dropped my facade.
"How about not my type?" I said simply, and all of the other boys started cracking up in laughter.
"Dang, she's feisty!" I heard one call out, but I just ignored it. Looking over to Jake and John, I noticed they were both glaring daggers at the boy who had just flirted, well attempted at least, with me. Oh, well. Sighing happily as the bell rang, the "men" retreated to their seats, still sendind goofy smiles my way.
When will this be over...?
**JAKE'S P.O.V.**
We were all laughing, having a good time. Talia was constantly rolling her eyes at the way us boys acted. I did notice the looks that she was getting from all the guys -- those lustful, longing looks that she completely missed. Then, Roger went up to her and attempted to flirt with her. And, well, knowing Talia and her way with flirting; it didn't end well for Roger.
But he crossed the lines for he saw the way I've been acting lately. He knew the way I talked about her before school had even started. Yet he decides to flirt with her anyway. I glared daggers at him, drilling through his head, hurting him in my mind. Looking over, I noticed John doing the same. I've noticed that the two were a little close, but he promised me he only liked her as a good friend, like a little sister even.
So he was just acting as her overprotective brother, but she wouldn't know what that feels like. No, she has three other sister as I have three other brothers. It's actually pretty weird how our families both have four kids, opposite genders, all the same ages. Coincidental, if you ask me.
Finally, the bell rang, and the guys all went back to their seats. Though they would always turn back and smile at her, or stare lustfully. Any pupils that met my eyes, received a death glare and with time -- they all backed off.
Maybe I was her overprotective ... Crusher? No, I didn't have a crush on her! Did I? I mean, sure she's pretty good looking and the only one besides Cassie who wears her hair down. Today her bangs were clipped back, and she looked good like that. Her natural curls flowing across her chest, down her back and.. What am I thinking? Get it together man!
Oh my god, I groaned internally, I have a crush on Talia Johnson.
